"We chose because of the quality or their products and lifetime warranty. We had siding install in 2014 and our windows installed in the winter of 2018. The product reps and installers were professional and did an outstanding job. We like the products so, we are currently having 2 garden doors installed now. Don't wait "CALL NOWWWW". You won't regret it."

"I hired Handy Helper & The Helping Hands for cleaning service. I wanted them to do a deep "Spring" cleaning in my 4 bed/3 bath home. - The work was very good - They had quick email response and I could schedule everything electronically - The price was comparable to other services in the area The interactions with the company were different than what I have experienced with other cleaning services. They wanted to come out and see what work we wanted done before scheduling the cleaning--like the quote or job spec visit you get when hiring a handyman or landscaping service. Also, they did not want me to be present in my home during the cleaning service. I thought we had worked this out during the initial visit, but they again insisted that I leave on the actual day of the service. I would recommend them if you are looking for a service to do a "move out" clean or are comfortable with having the service in your home independently."

Small jobs welcome

"Their communication was great from responding to messages, working with us, and giving updates on dates of project. We live in Colorado and found it easier to work with them at the lake then some contractors in our state, which much of the communication was done while still in Colorado. The result was a nice deck. The company is currently providing several bids on additional railing and gutters."

"Matrix Construction employees were a pleasure to have in my home. In addition to the more involved work scope they cleaned up extremely well. Originally we thought the work involved repair of some and replacement of other wallboard. They discovered that the termites we had had eaten on the studs and headers. After replacement of the studs and headers they could then continue with the wallboard work. I liked their work so much I’ve hired them to do another job for me. I would not do that unless I was very pleased with their work."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Columbia, MO

A pro can set an attic ladder in two to four hours, including framing adjustments and finish work. Complex installs—like cutting a brand-new opening or trimming joists—land toward the high end of that window. Tackle the job yourself and plan on a full day, plus an extra pair of hands, since one mis-measurement can slow everything down.

Local building codes drive this decision. If your ceiling has a fire-rating requirement, the ladder must match it to maintain that protective barrier. A rated unit slows flame spread between the attic and living space, buying valuable evacuation time and limiting damage.

Because codes vary by city and even by neighborhood, check with the permitting office or ask your contractor before you order the ladder.

Aluminum ladders are light, rust-proof, and easy to maneuver, making them a practical choice for most households. Wood models handle higher weight loads and can match traditional trim if aesthetics top your list, but they’re heavier and need occasional upkeep.

Compare the ladder’s duty rating, your ceiling height, and how often you’ll use it. The best option is the one that balances safety, convenience, and the look you want without stretching the budget.
