"ASAP Renovating was with us from ideation to finishing and we couldn't be happier with the results. My wife and I had never experienced a remodel before and had no idea what to expect, how to get started, or even what we wanted to change in the house. Louis and Tammy were very patient and took the time to meet with us several times over a couple of months to iron out the details, provide us with plenty of options, and build a solid kitchen and living room remodel plan. As is the case with any remodel, there were unforeseeable issues that came up during the project, and for us, it was a rotted subfloor and a severely clogged drainpipe. ASAP Renovating notified us as soon as these issues were discovered, explained the consequences, provided us with several options and their costs, and gave a professional recommendation. Despite those issues, the project went more smoothly than I had anticipated and ended up on time, at budget, and of high quality. I highly recommend ASAP Renovating Solutions."

"It looks great and I do like that. It was fast and efficient. What I did not like was that they tell you about what you can’t use on the counter tops after you have got them installed. So there is a lot of things you can’t use on the counter top, like the Prill and I think they should tell you that before it is done because now I am afraid to put anything on them because we are afraid we would ruin it so we are very conscious but if somebody came in the house when we are on vacation, they might ruin it. So they are not as durable some of the higher priced stuff but it is good for what it’s got. It is very nice, I can’t complain and I do enjoy them but I just have to be careful not to use anything that is a bleach product, or anything that is abrasive and there is only a couple of things I can use, 409 and Windex."

"The original terrazzo floors (1954) all needed cleaning, and covered the entryway, hallways, and kitchen. I wasn't sure what was involved in the process and was worried special equipment would be needed. They were so scummy. I called Melvin and we set up a time to meet at my house for an assessment and quote. He showed up on time, was thorough in checking all the tile, and took time to explain the process of stripping and sealing my floors. No special equipment needed, thank goodness! He gave a fair quote and we set a time for him to return with his associate and start stripping. Melvin and his female business partner showed up bright and early everyday, on time and worked fast and diligently. No messing about (or taking long ridiculous lunches like the last tile guys who never came back). I tried to move my furniture out of the way, but they took time to move the rest on the first day, and helped move it all back when the floors were finished and dry. Melvin even took time after the job was finished to give me pointers on how to keep my floors polished and shiny. Without a doubt, they are the cleanest, nicest, and most professional team I have ever worked with. If I finally decide to redo the tile in my bathroom I am calling Melvin for sure!"

"Since I was in a hurry, Don (the Owner) came on a Saturday to give me the Estimate for the job.Work was started on 4-30-12.Releveling and repairing of the tiedowns went pretty fast. Because I am picky about matching colors, there was a short delay do to Don not having the right color chips.Once I was able to pick "my color", ordering of the skirting material didn't take very long.Work was completed on 5-11-12.I am very happy with his work and I will hire him again."

"They came over, we discussed some of the things we needed done, and they seemed very eager to work. We explained we couldn't pay for everything up front and wanted to do things in stages. They were very comfortable with that. <br /> We were not in a big rush to get everything done right now, so we suggested a work schedule that fit our needs. They were ok with that too. So the house painting was done in two weeks, but it could have been much faster if we had wanted it. <br /> Since we were not really sure what we wanted, we asked them to be patient as we made up our minds what to do next. When we needed them, we called and they came. Sometimes it was just for a few hours, to take out the deck, or clean out the flower beds. <br /> They have been working for us for several weeks off and on, and we are very pleased with their work. <br /> Note: These young people are just starting out so do not have all the tools the more expensive contractors have. <br /> But their willingness to work and for a reasonable price, made it worth it. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Corpus Christi, TX

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
