"I would like to take a moment to THANK everyone at Elite H. Renovation LLC. I contracted them to do an asbestos abatement job in my basement. Braily C.-President made the process go smoothly every step of the way, was a pleasure to do business with and gave a fair price. I'm totally satisfied with the professional service provided by Braily & his crew and highly recommend Elite H. Renovation LLC to anyone needing an asbestos abatement professional."

"I hired Kascon to do asbestos abatement in my attic. I worked with Keith Carroll as my primary contact, he was outstanding. Keith was prompt courteous knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The back office crew was equally oppressive in assisting me with documentation billing etc. as were the gentlemen who showed up to do the abatement work. They were neat and meticulous, showed up when they said they were going to show and did a great job cleaning out not only the asbestos but contaminated wood and materials. Would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who needs asbestos abatement work done. Ask for Keith, you will not be disappointed."

"Fantastic. Dean came and gave me an estimate after looking through the whole basement to properly wrap and encapsulate all the asbestos piping and he said he would remove the asbestos in some areas if needed. He did not give me the lowest price but I believe he was the best value. He and his crew arrived exactly on time when scheduled and provided an effective and efficient job. He mentioned that there was some damage beyond the originally pointed out areas and he and his crew proceeded to take care of everything. Even on the way out he saw an area that probably would have been ok but insisted on re wrapping this spot noticed at the last minute. In addition, he and the crew also secured the horsehair areas of the piping to ensure we would never have to work on these pipes again, which was not something we had included in the pricing or even discussed. As previously a contractor myself (although not in this field) , it is rare when you hire someone who does the job and takes the initiative and the time to go above and beyond . By the way, the quote for the job was for everything so he and his crew did approximately 50% more spots without asking for any additional money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for both the quality of the job and the professionalism of the crew, not to mention how personable they all were. If spending money on something like this can be a pleasure then this was it. Kudos."

"Not done. Requested an estimate for both mod and asbestos remediation. Inspections had been completed. Dan arrived snd reviewed the area in the basement. He was very friendly and we had a nice chat about a neighborhood I lived in many years. I thought it was a good meeting. He agreed to send an estimate. None arrived. Called his phone, no response. Sent sn email to the company, no response. I’m surprised because Dan was very friendly. So, I can’t rate them too highly. but this is not a good sign."

"All of the people working for this company went over and above. Our furnace gave up the ghost last Friday. We were all set to have a new furnace installed but there was asbestos insulation, and the furnace company would not touch the project. Over the weekend Todd assured us that they would take care of us. Jeff did amazing work Monday to clear up the issue. Today, on Thanksgiving (as it is sleeting outside) we're here in house warm and dry, thanks to them."

"I live 400 miles away in Baltimore and found John's company on Angies List in the Albany NY area - Im dead serious, and you can write me if you want to verify any of this or call me, but this was a great experience and without Angies List to rely on to find a vendor, I would have no idea where to even start to look for help with my mold issue.  John - easily recommended by me and my family. <br />"

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Coxsackie, NY

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
