"We had a patio installed in our backyard. We met Bill from Sharper Cut at a home improvement show in Upper Marlboro. He was very professional from the beginning and scheduled a follow up meeting for us to come out and meet with him on that day. Before we had the meeting, he came out to the property to take pictures and see the layout. We had previously had a drawing which we sent him ahead of time. When we met with him, he had prepared several different options for a patio, including landscape. He listened intently to what we wanted and implemented it, including the seating wall, pillars and lights. He was very patient, showed the designs, modified them based on our questions and requests, and explained things very clearly. When there was a delay with a stone that we originally chose for the patio, he had us choose another stone to our liking, without making any adjustments to the price. The crew that did the work, showed up timely and were extremely professional. They would have been completed on time but got delayed because of rain storms that soaked the yard. However, as soon as it dried up they came out and finished the project. We are extremely pleased with the patio and all of our neighbors that come and see it, absolutely love it. I have recommended him to several of my neighbors and would encourage anyone looking for quality work to be done for them to consider Sharper Cut. They are awesome!!!!"

"Mr. Brown was very prompt in returing my call to setup an appointment to look at the job and provide an estimante. He was also very professional and thourough in looking at all causes to the damage. He got right back to me with an estimate within a day and was able to schedule work withing a few days. Old drywall was demoed and he verified there was not any mold or damage that need to be addressed once ceiling was down. New drywall was installed and painted and it looks like it was never cut out. "The Village Carpenter, Mark L., did an excellent job rebuilding my deck. I had 10 long floor boards that were rotten and needed to be replaced. The deck looked somewhat the worse for wear and needed a fresh coat of stain. Mark gave me a detailed estimate right away. He noticed that some of the wood I had purchased had not been treated properly and so he took care of that on my behalf with out increasing the estimate. He removed all the old materials. The deck now looks brand new and I feel happy every time I go out on it. The best thing about all this was that he actually followed through and did things quickly and well for exactly what he had estimated. There was none of this "and when is he coming back to finish the job," which I've experience with other contractors. He works hard and well, is friendly and reliable, and does what he says he's going to do. He has also rebuilt my front steps which was a more complex operation that I'm also very happy with. I've posted a separate review on that project under masonry."

"A three-person crew showed on the day scheduled and completed the job within 4.5 work days (I was thinking 3 days). They were courteous and worked carefully around my plants and bushes. I am pleased with their workmanship and with the front office staff. The price was a driving factor in my decision and I believe I got very good value for the job needed. "They seemed really great but ultimately we ended up going with another company based on the strong recommendation of our landscape architect. We never actually went through and have them do the job but they seemed that they were very professional. The estimate was good. The plans were good. It's just that we went with somebody else. The bid was for $3500. They have prompt customer service. They were very polite. They were really good at staying in touch with us by email and getting us a copy of the estimate and plan by email."

"Poor experience, resulting in rotten wood being put up, gates that did not close properly, and fence posts that were not evenly spaced. When we complained we were told we were difficult customers. They eventually fixed the rotten wood but the posts could not be fixed and were told it was our fault because we did not know to ask that fence posts be evenly spaced. (Silly us - we assumed they'd do it right the first time since this is their profession and we've never installed a fence before!)"
