"Ricky and his team at RHB Remodeling were such a joy to work with, I’ve had many rooms redone in my house by other companies and there is always problems or issues- not with RHB- everything was done in a timely manor, they were clean, and I now have the bathroom of my dreams. I will not hesitate to hire them again for my kitchen remodel. Highly recommend!"

"Bobby and his crew went above and beyond and did a fantastic job. They finished my basement so my 90+ year old parents could move in and live comfortably and it looks beautiful. They also painted and did flooring work on the main level and it all turned out great. I highly recommend Bobby Franklin."

"My husband and I hired AllCraft Construction to finish up a project with a good many different kinds of work and loose ends earlier this year. We had an issue meeting code with construction on our new deck and AllCraft designed and implemented a solid solution to remedy the issue. There was exterior work completed where we needed insulation and mesh coverings around pipes and vents to the outside of our home to keep air and insects out. AllCraft provided help with interior finishing items such as trim work and hardwood floor repair and corrected an interior door which wouldn't open. We needed help with our clothes dryer vent which wasn't vented properly after our remodel plus AllCraft was able to assure us that an ice maker drain line was draining well. I'm sorry we didn't work with AllCraft from the very beginning of our project but I am very thankful that they were able to finish our project for us in such a professional way. I would definitely use AllCraft in the future."

"Alex, his brother David and his Father installed approximately 1,000 square feet of hardwoods on the main floor and upstairs hall of our home. The results are exceptional! They were professional, competent, very personable. The cost was very competitive. We are extremely pleased with the results. It's almost like having a new house. Great job!!"

"Overall, it was a good experience. AAA put down a vapor barrier and installed a Santa Fe dehumidifier with sump pump. The result is that we can now use the stand-up basement/crawlspace to store things under the house without ruining them. This is the part that you need to know. The installation was not without problems. First, they broke an A/C drain pipe, second, they cut a sprinkler controller wire while running a PVC pipe. Here's my take, accidents happen but how does the business respond to these issues? Well, Donna was very quick to send her team out to correct the problems and they even paid for the damage to the sprinkler system. To me, that's top notch customer service. Any business can make a mistake, but how they handle it is the mark of a good company. Every time I lift the roll door and go into the basement now, I'm amazed at how cool and fresh the air is down there. No more mildew and no more smell."

"Marty did a beautiful job of remodeling our small guest bathroom.. He painted the whole bathroom , put in new floor tile, a new toilet , new sink and cabinet. It looks fantastic! He also replaced all my soffits around my house because they were rotted out. Put up new gutters. I have seen Martyâ s work at my stepdaughterâ s houses .He remodels bedrooms and does a fantastic job on the second floor Of a two-story home. I would definitely recommend him to everyone! He also helped me with a scratch on my floor that was done three years ago and you can hardly see it on the hardwood floor."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Dawsonville, GA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
