"We’re happy with the results. Rob was very accommodating, picked up and assembled a shed vs build one at our request. He did a thorough old shed tear down and site prep and hauled away. Good communication throughout. Thank you."

"We cannot say enough great things about Tristate Complete Home Repair! We just finished up a partial renovation of the interior of our Hoosier Homestead farmhouse, and Tristate did a fabulous job! The house had spent decades under the care of our aging parents, so it needed a lot of careful attention to update nearly everything without compromising the unique historical beauty of the house. Owner Tim of Tristate brought decades of renovation experience to our project, leading a crew of workers representing all the trades. This meant fewer delays and mistakes on our project. No regrets here. We look forward to future work from Tristate!"

"James showed up on time and went above and beyond to make sure all of the doors were installed properly. Our home is older and had some quarks about it and James handled the issue professionally with no additional charges to us.

"I recommend Clover Creek Construction to every single person. John was the first to return my phone call for a quote even though he knew it was going to be a smaller job. He listened to exactly what I said I wanted done and stuck to my budget while others tried to sell me on more expensive options- for reference, one other person told me that I was looking at an entire gut job and quoted me $15,000. John promptly sent me the quote and (in October) scheduled our bathroom renovation to begin on January 18. I anticipated that this would mean an approximate start date in the end of January, but John and Brett arrived exactly on time on January 18th. John and Brett were extremely friendly, and conscientious of our home- they were careful walking through rooms and I was amazed that they took the time to actually clean and wipe down the floors every day before they left. They were patient with my questions and were in constant communication through the entire process. Additionally, they were friendly with our dogs, which we appreciated.
Originally, we were told that the renovation would take two weeks, so I expected the project to last a month...John and Brett finished our bathroom in ten days. I have never heard of a home project taking less time than projected. In the end, we love our bathroom. There is not a single thing we would change- everything is as we hoped. A month later, everything still looks awesome.
We will definitely be using Clover Creek Construction for our next home project.

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse building service projects in Dayton, OH

Most sheds larger than six feet by eight feet require a foundation to remain level and dry. A compact tool shed might get by without one, but anything heavier should sit on at least a 4-inch-thick stone-and-gravel pad that extends two feet past the walls. The gravel protects wood skids and promotes drainage. If you want maximum stability—and your budget allows—a poured concrete slab is the strongest option.

Your ideal shed size hinges on purpose. A common 10-by-12-foot kit gives you 120 square feet—plenty for lawn tools and bikes. Need just a spot for a mower and a few rakes? A compact 4-by-7-foot model should work. If you’re envisioning a workshop or hobby room, look at 12-by-16 feet or larger.

A good rule is to raise the shed floor four to six inches above the surrounding soil. That clearance encourages water to drain away instead of pooling beneath the structure. The simple step is especially important for wood floors and skids, helping deter rot, mold, and insect damage while extending the life of your new outbuilding.

Choose the route that fits your goals. Prefab sheds arrive in standard layouts and go up fast—perfect for basic storage on a tight timeline. Custom builds cost more and take longer, but let you add windows, wiring, plumbing, and unique finishes. Balance budget, features, and timeframe before deciding which type of shed is best for your needs.
