He had to reschedule twice because of bad weather, but that was no problem. They got the job done in the amount of time he said it would take. They did a great job, removed a lot of dead wood that could have fallen on my house, and left no mess anywhere. The price was exactly as quoted $1,6xx. Initially, I thought it was high, but they had four guys working for 4 1/2 or 5 hours. They were unable to use a lift, because my house sits up on a terraced hill, pretty for off from the street, so they had to climb very high to remove the wood. Maybe I could have found a lower price, but I was so impressed with Kyle, that I didn't even look any further. I felt like they really cared about the safety of their men too, which was very important to me. I would highly recommend!"

He was professional, offered alternatives and had creative ideas. The company started the next day, were prompt and courteous during the entire process. They cleaned up every day. The deck took longer than all the other anticipated due to delays in obtaining the required products twice. Due to costs, I was not able to have all the work done that I wanted and will have to have finished in a year or two. However, we knew this going into the project and Jim was able to do the work around and had suggestions to ensure it still looked professional. Due to all the rain, the grass was a sea of mud and part of the sidewalk was broken. The company reseeded and fixed the concrete at no charge and it looks beautiful. My large peony bush was the only plant that was lost, literally. It had great sentimental value to me and my daughter, as the flowers were in her wedding bouquet. Jim replaced it at no charge, but was disappointing. I didn't pay close enough attention to the location of the stairs on the deck on the blueprints and it does block off the view from the lower level and the existing patio. By the time I figured out what was what, it was too late. The stone work is beautiful. The plants are blooming. the grass is green. The neighbors and my family love it! Everything is functional and beautiful. Jim listened carefully, worked with the budget, accommodated changes and fulfilled my vision for now and the work down the road."

"In one of those rare cases of perfect timing, a few days after I subscribed to Angie's List their Big Deal was 48" granite countertop replacement for $349.  I was in the process of getting bids from other contractors for a 48" granite wet bar top replacement, the first of which had just come in obscenely high, so it was a no-brainer to take advantage of this Big Deal. <br /> <br /> The first step was to set up an appointment to take measurements, a few days after which we went to look at the stone samples at Solid Surface Resources.  The one we liked most was a few inches too small so we went with our second choice.  I think the Big Deal offer was meant for a bathroom vanity but they were flexible in making it work for a bar install. Installation was quick and painless, though I had to remove the old bartop / sink (due to the deal terms) and, post-install, redo the plumbing because it interfered with the sink. <br /> <br /> End result - it's awesome!  Their work was first-rate and their communication and follow-through was appreciated."

"I hired Quality Waterproofing to extend a buried downspout/sump pump drain that was poorly placed by a competitor 4 years ago. The competitor placed the pop up drain 10 feet from the house in a low spot, which created a swamp. Quality did an A+ job fixing the problem. They were timely, professional and UNDER budget. Very honest and high quality work. They even did some extra sodding and dirt work at no charge."

"Couldn’t have asked for a smoother transaction. Replaced two concrete basement walkout retaining walls with block walls. They removed the old walls and started and completed both new walls in an amazingly quick time. They made sure had proper drainage behind the walls so I wouldn’t have problems in the future. Doug was awesome to work and communicate with. I will use Ortman again for concrete or retaining walls. The walls look great. Highly recommended."

"Mark offered great suggestions as we were not exactly sure what we wanted. The finished wall looks great and really adds to the overall appearance of the house and the landscaping in the yard. He then took the limestones that were removed from the front yard and built a small garden wall in the back yard, which looks great. He offered suggestions to that, such as an extension of a walking path for the dog. He explains exactly what he is going to do and why, as well as various suggestions to give you more choices. He is friendly, prompt and puts everything back to normal. He also offers tidbits of advise on other yard projects. We have suggested him to others and they have been very pleased as well."
