"I usually donâ t write reviews but I was impressed with Lousâ work and help getting my AC situation taken care of. My central AC system went out and I needed it replaced as soon as possible. Even though he was booked, he was able to squeeze me in promptly, and was able to install a new unit for me in less than 48 hours. I highly recommend him for quick work and fair price. Thanks again!!"

"Initially I requested an estimate for a plumbing project already in progress with some challenges. Keith responded immediately to get details and schedule to come out to look at what was needed. He proposed a solution that eliminated any impact to walls or tile to replace old valves and faucets. He and his team completed the work on time and were neat and professional and results were better than I expected. There was no damage at all to what was old tile. I subsequently had him assess an old water heater and decided to replace it. It had to go into a very small areas and be upgraded to code and he was able to solution the replacement to fit perfectly in the limited space. Previously on the project we had noticed a periodic odor of gas but no one had verified a source. Keith identified a leak in the area of the furnace right next to the water heater. We had decided to upgrade the furnace and AC and again Keith and his team were able to get an order in quickly, get the install done exactly as committed and fixed the gas leak in the process. Based on the quality of work performed in each case and the expertise of the team I hired Plumbing Tree again to assess an old furnace and AC at my primary residence. The furnace had been failing at the end of the winter but I waited for summer to replace and it had deteriorated and was not safe. Keith evaluated and gave me two options and was able to get the order in immediately after I decided to go ahead. He scheduled the install within a few days. His crew was on time and completed the install of furnace and AC in one day. Again they were neat, efficient, described all the changes from the old furnace and thermostat to the new and answered all my questions. Everything has been functioning just as I expected for both heat and AC. I recommend Plumbing Tree for these services based on quality and reliability - also cost was competitive and the team they used had the expertise required. Additionally they were easy to work with and I plan to use them again on another project. Thanks Keith and team- I appreciate the quality work!"

"Mitch is great. Very thorough. He came to certify my system and had to be really honest. He showed me the damage and offered a fair price for the furnace replacement. He was done in a day and it looks amazing."

"When calling contractors, some would give a round about phone quote. ModTech set up an appointment to look at what was needed. Jake came the following morning and took the time to explain that he wanted to get the same valve and expansion tank plus also that he would be replacing some of the copper piping. Once he checked parts availability, called back with an exact quote and time frame ( which was the following morning). Also while replacing some of the copper pipes, they noticed that there was corrosion on other pieces, so they replaced them as well."

"The repair was made.  Sean, the service tech was courteous and professional and obviously knew what he was doing. He replaced the circuit board which took less than 1/2 hour and for that I was charged $597.00. Thinking that the circuit board was pricey (Sean, the service tech indicated so), I thought the repair bill of $597 was reasonable.  Only after calling some stores (the next day) and finding out a circuit board cost $125 did I realize I got ripped off. Controlling Systems labor charge for 1/2 hour work amounted to $472. I called the owner/guy in charge to request a refund for part of the labor charge. (I really didn't expect to receive anything) Not only did this person(whose name I wished I remembered, I would state it here) not want to hear my complaint, he hung up on me because he knew he ripped me off. He was rude and didn't want to hear my complaint. He obviously didn't want to hear anything I had to say, only stating that I agreed to the repair charge beforehand. To that he's correct, I did agree to the charge but when I asked Sean what was the cost of the circuit board, he said  $250-300. Now I know parts are marked up when purchased through a company such as CS but I still believe this company took advantage of me. ( and probably hundreds of others out there). Controlling Systems did not provide parts cost, labor costs, etc in their estimate which they used to (I had used them 3 years ago, but I won't ever use them again) Future potential customers take heed: I WOULD ALWAYS REQUEST THE ESTIMATE REPAIR BILL BE BROKEN DOWN to parts cost, labor cost, etc. And if they tell you they can't provide that, that's a good sign you're being overcharged.
Normally I am careful about negotiating and reading the fine print, etc. but this day I was distracted and the temperature was in the teens. I wanted the furnace fixed and I didn't have time to get estimates. Also if I hadn't  used Controlling Systems I would have been charged the $100 diagnostic(service) charge. Lastly, Sean intially quoted me $700. When I told him I was going to get other estimates, he lowered the estimate to $597.

FAQs for central air cleaner service projects in Denver, CO

For individuals with respiratory sensitivities, whole-house filtration systems can significantly reduce exposure to common allergens throughout the entire living space. Systems with higher MERV ratings capture more microscopic irritants, such as pollen, pet dander, and dust mites, that trigger allergic reactions. The comprehensive approach addresses air quality in all rooms simultaneously, unlike portable units that treat limited areas. Though the initial investment is substantial, many allergy sufferers find the consistent symptom relief justifies the expense.

Maintenance requirements vary by system type and manufacturer specifications. Most systems benefit from regular professional inspections to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Filter replacement schedules depend on your specific system design, household conditions, and manufacturer guidelines. Regular maintenance helps preserve system efficiency, extends equipment lifespan, and maintains effective air purification. Following the maintenance schedule outlined in your owner's manual provides the best guidance for your specific system.

Energy consumption varies depending on the system type and usage patterns. Some components, particularly electronic air cleaners or UV light systems, require additional electricity. However, many modern systems are designed with energy efficiency in mind. Clean, well-maintained HVAC systems operate more efficiently than those struggling with dust buildup. Regular filter maintenance and selecting equipment of the appropriate size help minimize potential increases in energy consumption.

Some filtration technologies effectively reduce household odors while also removing particles. Systems incorporating activated carbon components or specialized media can effectively capture many odor-causing compounds from sources such as cooking, pets, or household products. Electronic air cleaners may help neutralize certain odor molecules through ionization processes. While filtration helps reduce odors circulating through your home, addressing the underlying sources remains important for comprehensive odor management.
