"The technician came out yesterday, June 5th and did a diagnosis on my air conditioner as there was a significant cooling disparity between the upstairs and downstairs of our two story townhome. I was expecting to possibly replace the A/C as it is getting older. However, the technician stated the AC is in good working condition and that there was a slight leakage factoring into the cooling discrepancy. That was a much less expensive repair or fix vs. replacing the whole equipment. I appreciated his honesty, time spent communicating the issue with me and professionalism. I would definitely use All Temp Heating and Air Conditioning again and recommend them to anyone dealing with air conditioning issues."

"Within 5 minutes after Roy walked in, I knew I was speaking with an expert. He talked me out of wasting money on what I wanted (getting rid of boiler and replying on furnace) telling me about how everyone in the city during -40 degree nights was will freeze and if I keep the boiler I'll be comfy. He also talked me out of choosing a heat pump, saying in Chicago it will cause problems in the dead of winter and then I'll be out of luck. Initial estimate was only to replace the 60 year oil leaky boiler and 40 year old loud AC and furnace. Came in, did the work quickly, and when we were doing final inspection he pointed out where my last remaining original furnace was having problems. Gave me a great price to just get the the last furnace and AC done (AC was 40 years old). I know they won't be the cheapest but if you want someone you can trust who will guide you with his 30 years of experience and teach you the finer details of heating and cooling while delivering quality work, go with Porterhouse. I won't trust anyone else."

"My husband and I were impressed with Shavitz from the very beginning. There customer service is excellent. They not only provided us with the name of the person, Will, coming out to provide recommendations and a quote for a new air conditioner, but they also provide us with a small bio on his history with the business as well as the industry, which we thought nice touch. When Will came out to give us an estimate he walked both my husband and I through the various options and provided a good, better, best ranking. Will had a family emergency the day of the install, but he had Rich come in his place and made sure that he was up to speed on our needs so it was seamless transition the day of the install. Rich, Cosmin, and Linas were nothing but professional and easy going. I was put right at ease as they walked me through the different elements they were going to change for us. Cosmin and Linas jumped right into the project. When it came to the install of the unit it was slightly bigger than our old one, so they had me come out to make sure it was placed where I wanted it. They gave me additional insight as to why it would be better to place it a few more inches away from the house to be able to access it for maintenance, which I appreciated as I wouldn't have known to do that. When the job was finished Cosmin and Linus made sure to walk me through everything that was changed, explained how often to have it cleaned and left all to documents need for the unit in a packet for easy reference. My husband and I would highly recommend Shavitz Heating & Air Conditioning (especially Will, Rich, Cosmin, and Linas) and they would be the first ones we call should we have additional heating and air conditioning needs."

"I would like to preface my statement by saying this company was recommended to me by my family member who has used this company regularly and has not yet had their AC unit replaced - their unit is 21 years old. I was having problems with my upstairs AC unit not cooling properly and called out to American Family for the first time with a service call thinking that the unit may only need repair (maybe needing freon or a leak as the blower motor seemed to still be working, just no cool air). It turned out to be the compressor. I elected not to replace the units compressor due to the age of the unit itself. The company rep suggested that we also replace the heating unit upstairs due to its age and noting the complications we were having at the end of the winter season (he did check it as well). He stated it would be cheaper to do both than one at a time, but also stated it was completely my choice. Knowing about this company from other relatives they do try to repair and/or resolve your HVAC issues first. However, my AC was beyond a reasonable repair. I asked for a bid without the heating unit and with the AC and heating. The quotes were individually fair and I elected to do the later (with heat and AC). They scheduled immediately with owner Tim. They were able to install the next day, but I elected 2 days later. I only paid for the service call at this point and they accepted my coupon. The service guys arrived timely. It was an extremely hot day (roughly 99 degrees), but the workers stayed all day installing both units until everything was satisfactory. They were pleasant and explained everything in detail. They cleaned up after themselves, taking the old units. There was very little residual left behind and considering they worked so long and it was so hot they were respectful and completed the job as stated. A part was missing during install, but it was immediately resolved as it was brought by someone else from the company, in turn, leaving them to continue working rather than leaving and coming back. I was very pleased overall and will use them again."

"JML did a great job replacing a cracked portion of a condensate line in my attic. The cracked PVC was up in the attic which is in a tight spot. Derek showed up the next day after I called and went up into the attic found the crack and replaced the pipe in a hour. There was only professionalism from him despite having to be in a hot tight attic digging through insulation for a hour replacing this condensate line. I would definitely hire this company again for any HVAC / Water Heater needs."
