"Jim is a nice enough person to work with if you do not have a timeline. Some of his subcontractors are great like flooring. Others, particularly his plumber, are terrible. Multiple code violations and callbacks to fix issues. My advice if you decide to use Jim is to not use allowances and make him provide a fixed price contract. He likes to make up the difference in his cheap quote to get your business by having most allowances categories come in much higher."

Bob is meticulous and his subcontractors are fantastic at their crafts and very loyal to Bob for good reason. He was pretty instantaneous in his communication with me even on weekends, which we rarely bothered him in. This was a mid 6 figure job that Bob said would take 4 1/2 to 6 months. They finished in 5 1/2 months which is pretty amazing during a pandemic with major supply chain issues. Bobs bid wasnâ t the lowest, but it wasnâ t the highest of the 5 bids we received. They were pretty much on budget except for material price increases, especially lumber which was not his or the lumber yards fault.
