I also had to agree to loosing some warranties and guarantees of work holding up over time and/or fixing the initial leak issue unless I agreed to pay double the planned costs to complete the project.properly. The solution recommended to us seems to he helping so far, but isn't very asthectucaly pleasing on the our front porch of our home. Also workers posted out a trip hazard on out sidewalk due to land settlement and I even mentioned it to our sales representative. Surprisingly he didn't offer fixing it or selling me options for fixing it. I found this very odd since it's one.of their companies biggest selling/marketing campaigns?"

When I called to have them install a gas line (about 10 feet), they were going to get back to me with a quote and timeline. That was a month ago - nothing. "He drained the old water heater and then cut the old supply and return lines.  He disconnected the gas line.  He hauled the old wate heater out to his company truck.  He installed the new water heater and used flex fittings to re-attach the new water heater to new supply and return lines.  He re-connected the gas line.  He started the pilot light and explained this operation, the heat settings and showed me where the site hole to the burner was.  Asked if I wanted to replace the old water heater blanket, but I told him I wasn't sure I needed it.  The new water heater has better insulation then the old one.  The price of the install included all labor, parts and removal of the old water heater.  He gave me a $35.00 discount off the labor.  The Angie's list discount, with this company was for labor only.  This company was one of two that actually came out to give me an estimate onsite.  The other companies gave me a phone estimate, but with the final price contingent on the layout of the various piping, venting and the actual site and ability to get in and out easily.  I just felt that the two companies that came out deserved my consideration, because they took the extra step of actually coming out to my home.  The estimate for this job, that I finally accepted, was not the lowest bid nor the highest bid.  It was, however, the acual bid for all services as they knew what the work site looked like and their bid was not open ended.  I felt it was a fair bid and I did not need to worry about add on costs."
