"We needed a section of carpet removed and gym flooring installed in its place. MNM was quick to respond to our inquiry, provided a fair quote, and did the work as scheduled and in a timely fashion. The price we paid was what was quoted, and we were happy with the quality of both the work and the cleanup. We would hire MNM again for future projects."

"After extensive research, I contracted with Absolute Carpet Care for my upholstery cleaning. They were spectacular! Everything from their scheduler to the gentlemen that came to the house: very personable, professional, and efficient. The pieces that they cleaned were 16+ years old and now they literally look brand new. Their pricing was competitive and reasonable. I wish I would have contacted them years ago, I will definitely use them again. Highly Recommend!"

"Used Angie's List coupon. Worth the drive to Laurel from Owings Mills. Owner himself came out to measure and give estimate. Please keep in mind that if you have, say, a 1000 square foot space to cover and there a number of rooms and closets and hallways and zigs and zags that add up to 1,000 square feet and the price is $1.00 per square foot, your cost will not be $1,000. Carpet is sold and installed by the roll, which maybe 12 or 15 feet wide. If there are a lot of corners and things to cut out and around then you will pay for that waste. I ended up with several seams (which are invisible) because the owner when measuring and determining the estimate used a more economical method in terms of material required, but it meant a little more work for the installers and saved me money. The installers themselves were punctual and efficient. Installing carpet is hard work. As mentioned there were a couple more seams with my installation but they were handled well and wouldn't be noticed even if they were pointed out. The carpet was a low level Mohawk product, but so far I have less than no complaints. It looks great and definitely will add value to my condo. I would not hesitate to use PriceCo for any future flooring needs."

"The carpets look great! When they returned them they included the pad I asked for a quote on. A simple misunderstanding. I called and they arranged to come pick it up and gave me a full refund including state tax. Pleasant to speak with and a job well done."

"Pick up and delivery was great. Carpet was clean. I looked into getting the carpet repaired, but decided against it because they couldn't guarantee the match of the fringe on one side with the existing fringe on the other side."

"The gentleman who came to my house was wonderful.  He was by himself and i wondered how he was going to get the carpet out. (when he came returned the carpet he came with help)  He was very efficient and informative.   And both he and his helper were extremely friendly and polite.  I enjoyed working with them.  He even looked at the other oriental carpets in my house and told me what type of carpets they were,   an estimate of their value and even how to manage sun damage. <br /> He recommended a few things, but not did not seem to be looking to boost the bill. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in District Heights, MD

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
