"The technician arrived early and go right to work. My door was in bad shape. The motor had pulled loose from its mount and the door was off the guide. The technician reattached the motor chain bracket to the wall, fixed the wiring that was hanging down, fixed the bent guide, adjusted the spring bar springs, and lubricated the spring and all wheels. The Technician also installed screws when reattaching the mounting board for the motor instead of nails like the builder did. He also installed some screws for the two warped mounting boards for the guides. It took about 1 1/2 hours and everything is fine now. Now the garage door will probably outlive me. Good Job! Very happy with the work performed."

"A few years back, the garage door opener on our second garage door suddenly stopped working. The opener was installed in the 80's and was a custom install (rod length cut) due an obstruction by a large air duct. Thinking we needed a new opener, I called a few companies. After explaining the situation none were willing to come out and do the job. I was finally able to find one person that agreed to come out. He measured the length of the rail and said he would get back to me; he never did. So the garage pretty much sat unused for the next few years. After purchasing a new car a couple of weeks ago, I was determined to get the opener replaced. I found The Door Doctors via a recommendation on the Nextdoor app. A gentleman came out and I explained to him what happened. I mentioned that I thought the motor was burned out. He suspected that it was just the capacitor (a $10 part!). Sure enough, after replacing the capacitor, the opener worked!! I was extremely impressed by his knowledge but most of all by his honesty. He could've easily told me that the opener needed to be replaced to make more $. Instead he saved us a few hundred dollars! In addition, he said that if the capacitor fails again, he would apply a credit of the current service cost towards the install and replacement of the old opener. It's so refreshing to see that there are still honest businesses out there. Door Doctors has gained a life-long customer and I will recommend them to all my family and friends. A+ Highly Recommended!"

"I can't begin to convey the dissatisfaction in quality of service from Blair Windows. We ordered windows for our entire home going on about a year ago from time of order to receiving the windows. The workmen have been out to my over 3 times to replace the largest window in home and cracked my original window. My daughter is getting married in one week and I have a big piece of tape covering the crack in the window that sits in front of the house. Needless to say, I will never order any services again and don't recommend!!!"

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Dora, AL

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
