"John of Plymouth Nursery and Landscaping and his staff were wonderful. They did a terrific job cleaning up my property and planting all new beautiful shrubs and plants. Also installed a system to help with my water problem. My property was in desperate need of a face lift and John and his crew came through. I would recommend Plymouth Nursery and Landscaping!"

"We got lots of estimates to install an irrigation system and landscape lighting. When I met with Joe he was not interested in selling me equipment but spent the time going over what we actually needed....especially for landscape lighting. His approach was great, he came up with a solution for our watering needs and a simple version for the landscape lighting since we weren't sure how much light we wanted.....Once we see it, if we want more highlighting it could easily be added.....which we did on 2 other occasions. His workers too great care of my property and when they had a question about location of sprinkler head they came and discussed it with me before moving forward. One of the best contractor experiences we have had. Almost forgot...we have a collection area where all the underground pipes disperse water from our gutters. That was always full of water when Joe mentioned that the pip wasn't done correctly....since he had the equipment and the machinery already on the property he took care of that for me. Even with this wet spring we have not seen any signs of water from the collection area overflowing. I've already referred them to many neighbors since everyone loves the landscape lighting."

"Sharkey installed a sprinkler system for the planting beds at out home in 2011 and have serviced it ever since. In August we went on vacation and upon returning found many plant in the from beds had died. I checked and found there was no power to the sprinkler system. Sharkey's tech responded and discovered that the power came from a plug in an outlet in the basement. This apparently was how the system had been originally installed, but we were never informed of that and there were no marking to indicate it. While the tech was there, he tested the rain sensor control and said it wasn't working. A new unit would cost $350, so I decided to wait. I went online and bought the same system for $60. Installing it would involve removing 4 wires and reconnecting them, a 10 minute job. Before installing it, I tested the original unit by holding the test switch down for about 10 seconds. It worked fine. The tech had just pressed it without waiting the full 10 seconds. The sensing part of the control was mounted on a gutter. The holes in the sensor for collecting the rain were in the horizontal position which would not be effective. I remounted it with the holes facing upward."

"Called to get estimate to replace sprinkler conrol box. Beau gave estimate over the phone, was able to replace box right away, instructed us how to use new controls. Since he was so professional, we asked for estimate to replace broken section of our system. He gave reasonable estimate, did the work quickly. We were so pleased with his efficiency that we used his service to open and close our system until we moved. Recommended him to our home buyers. <br />"

"<p>My yard can be some what swampy if we have had substantial rain, so Ryan held off until it dried before coming in with a skid loader on tracks which he used to remove the bushes and roots. His men then dug out any remaining roots and leveled out the areas. They took down 3 tree limbs, one small mulberry tree and even cut up & removed a large branch which was in the creek and collecting debris. They put down top soil & grass seed.  They dug out a 4 X 20 foot bed around 4 azaleas and put down mulch. When they finished they cleaned up any and all debris. Would definitely use again.</p> <br />"

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Drexel Hill, PA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
