"We had a great experience with Bob Minoli of Integrity Residential Window Repair, Inc. We had twenty windows that had moisture between the double panes because of failing seals. He arrived at the promised time, put on shoe covers to enter our house without us having to ask him, was pleasant, thoroughly explained the job, and gave us a reasonable price to replace the panes. We appreciated that he was so flexible scheduling the repairs. We split the job up into several stages to coordinate our painting the rooms and installing new window blinds. For each stage, he arrived on time, replaced the panes, and was very neat and clean throughout the entire process. We also had Bob install a new sliding screen door off of our kitchen. He additionally replaced the springs on a few of our hard-to-raise windows. If any further windows need replacing, we will definitely use this company."

"I can’t say enough good things about Mike Phillips—he’s seriously the best! Recently, he installed a new water heater, tore out and replaced the shelves in my closet, built a new dryer duct, and fixed a jammed door. Everything he did was top-notch, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Mike made the whole process easy and stress-free while making sure everything was done exactly the way I wanted. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and gives great advice on all things home repair. On top of that, he’s just a genuinely pleasant person to work with. As a single woman, it meant a lot to have a handyman who made me feel safe, heard, and respected. Mike is a true professional who delivers quality work with integrity. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and skilled. He’s a gem!"

"It went well. I was quoted a price on the phone and when they got to my home and realized they had brought the wrong part, they made arrangements to return the next day. However, the price they gave me was more than what I was quoted on the phone. The manager Kim, listened to my original phone call that was made and called me back saying I was quoted the wrong price on the phone. They stood by what I was originally quoted and I really appreciated that. They apologized saying the person I spoke with was still a little new but they honored the price I was quoted."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Drytown, CA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
