Small jobs welcome

"Nathan and his assistant replaced two outdoor spigots and installed a pressure release valve. They were prompt, efficient and courteous. They took the time to explain everything they had done in detail."

"Can't say enough about the professionalism of Leon and his crew. He gave me an estimate that was dead on what the final charges were. They were there on time, they kept the jobsite clean and the install was top notch. Even the heating and air conditioning contractor who came in the next day to replace the heating and central a/c system commented on how well the install was. I would have no reservations about recommending Leon to work on my house if the case arises."

"It went fine, however, I was told the job would take roughly 8 hours for 1 person. It ended up being 15 hours, partly with a second handyman. So it was twice as much as we were expecting, and the price is already pretty high. Also, the second handyman brought an extra piece of siding that was not needed. We had already purchased a piece and had it painted, ready to install. So that was an unnecessary added expense. But I guess it's ok as we'll probably need it at some point in the future. What was really weird is that the same mistake happened when we had a piece of siding replaced a few years ago! Overall, they did a good job though, despite the cold weather."

"What a great experience. Dennis (whose middle name is Michael) was wonderful. He was at my house within an hour, and resolved my semi-emergency within three hours of that. His pricing is very reasonable, he's very knowledgeable, and he's licensed, which is not necessarily required in my area. I, of course, have his card now and will absolutely call on him for all my plumbing needs. Thanks so much, Home Advisor! Michael's Plumbing gets a 5 Star rating from me!"

"You have found the right place if you're looking for a sincere, trustworthy, and top-tier quality establishment! From the start, the initial scheduling phone call to Basement Gurus was delightful; the receptionist was very polite & friendly. On appointment day, Dan (the owner) was also pleasant. He was on time, easy to talk to, listened to all my concerns with water management around my property with outstanding attentiveness, and thoroughly devised a well-thought-out plan to address all of my problems. Dan didn't try to upsell me or undercut issues to get a sale. He only recommended what I needed for that moment & for the future to mitigate any further water problems. During the assessment, I couldn't help but get overwhelmed by the amount of work he started suggesting (while also getting that queasy homeowner feeling that I might have to spend a fortune on this), but his estimate surprised me. It was so reasonable for the amount of work needed that I had no difficulties going for it! What made it even better was that Dan could get me on the calendar for a rapid project start date. The team that conducted all the physical labor was respectful, polite, considerate of my home, and some of the hardest workers I had ever met. Even after a long day of back-breaking toil, they still made time to walk me around the work sites to see if it was up to my expectation. Dan would even periodically stop by to ensure the progress was up to his satisfaction, which reassured me throughout the entire process. I took even more solace knowing that Dan backs his company's work-up. He made it very clear that I let him know even after job completion if something was not to my liking. He takes tremendous pride in the longevity & quality of the work, which I respect a lot. Massive shoutouts to Dan, Zeus, Zeus's brother, Frank, the rest of the labor crew, and the office admin team. No need to look at any other companies. Basement Gurus is it! ☝???"

"The service call was placed on 12/10; vendor callled same day but was unable to respond until 12/14. He was prompt and declared the faucet was unreparable.. I asked if he could not try to repair but he said he cold not do that because if it din'fix the problem he could not replace the faucet. He stated that the replacement would not be exact but similar. My faucet had separaate lever for turn on/off but he said the replacement would probably be part of the sprout. We did not really appreciate this but he offered no probable favorable solution.. Not happy with response time but realize a close to weekend call caused this. Did not appreciate not even attempting repair."

"The woman who set up the appointment was very professional. She showed up when she said she was going to and was very fast in her estimates. She is supposed to send me an estimate tomorrow and I am confident that she will."

FAQs for faucets, fixtures and pipes repair or replace projects in Duncannon, PA

You can absolutely install an outdoor mixture tap outside your home. An outdoor mixer tap blends hot and cold water before it leaves the spout, giving you a steady temperature for rinsing produce, washing hands, or spraying down patio furniture. As long as a plumber runs both hot and cold supply lines and insulates them against freezing, a mixer outside performs just like the one in your kitchen.

Outdoor faucet handles come in twist, lever, or knob varieties, all designed to stand up to the elements while giving you precise flow control. They’re built from tough materials yet offer the same comfort and ease of use as indoor faucets. Ask your plumber for a selection and for recommendations on the best option for your needs.

Start by pinpointing the leak—often it’s a worn washer, a loose packing nut, or a damaged gasket. If it’s salvageable, replace the faulty part; otherwise, you may need a new faucet. Always turn off the water before starting repairs, and test thoroughly when you’re done to confirm you’ve stopped the leak.

You can protect your outdoor faucets during the winter months by shutting off the water supply to the outdoor faucet before freezing weather arrives and by always disconnecting any attached hoses. You can further safeguard your outdoor faucets against ice by insulating the pipe and installing a basic faucet cover.

An outdoor faucet can last 20 years, though budget models may wear out in 10, and high-end ones can push 30 or more. Proper installation, routine upkeep, and careful use help you get the most life from any spigot. Ask your plumber for maintenance and care recommendations to get the most from your outdoor faucet.

Replacing an outdoor spigot yourself might work if you’re handy, but a professional plumber guarantees code compliance, reduces the risk of water damage, and offers peace of mind. If you’re not sure about soldering or local regulations, it’s best to hire a licensed plumber for a lasting fix that you can feel confident in.
