I called Metro Handyman, and they were able to get to the work within a couple of days. the hole was patched, taped, and textured in about three hours. The results were very good. Following new paint, we couldn't tell where the work had been done."

(Our humidifier tube burst and there was a small leak over most of a day - and we had JUST refinished our basement.) They pulled back the carpet, brought in fans and dehumidifiers, replaced the carpet pad when it was dry, and re-stretched the carpet. They were very nice and professional and easy to work with.
I do think $950 is way too much to pay for this service, but unfortunately, this is not our first flood, so we know that's about going rate. They gave us a discount for not going through insurance, which we couldn't do because we'd already had a large water claim a year before. I liked Above All a lot more than the company we'd used before - who, incidentally, are no longer in business.
