Steve’s Plumbing was started in 1988 after many years of experience before that as a professional plumber. We have the experience to tackle any problem. We treat our customers how we would like to be treated. We are on time, and take great pride in our work. We are owner operated and I do a lot of the work myself. Our customers are our greatest asset. We personally answer the phone and will return all messages. We provide fast efficient service.
"Steve has been to my house twice and has been incredibly professional, kind, and clean both times. The first time, there was a leaking bathtub in my 2nd floor bathroom and although he had to cut the ceiling in the living room, he identified the problem and fixed it quickly and cleanly. He came the second time to my house to address a non-working kitchen sink garbage disposal and did it on the day I was moving! I couldn't have been more grateful for his services that day!"

For over a decade, the professionals at Thermo Direct Inc have worked hard for our friends and neighbors in the Triangle area. Helping homeowners and business owners, our comfort system technicians will make sure that your property’s heating and air conditioning equipment works as reliably and energy efficiently as possible. For projects big and small, we provide honest, cost-effective service. Relax... The Doctor is in the House!
"Thermo Direct installed a HVAC for me donated by Resources for Seniors. A friend of theirs who works at RFS, gave them the bid. I thought that was illegal but it was done. The unit never has worked from the day of installation. They had to jerry-rig it to keep it from shutting off. The receptionist asked if I knew how to work the thermostat? It turned out the unit was shutting off as a safety. The water was backflowing into the unit. To stop this action, it would shut down. They tilted it to stop the backlog. It has never cooled properly and required maintenance often. Deryk Lynn would come sometimes because he was at the time, the only licensed tech and everyone else worked under his license. I was charged for parts that were under warranty (the warranty is good for 10 years) and labor 1 year. My warranty on the parts doesn't expire until 2028. They're expensive, unprofessional and will not honor their word. I could go on but space won't allow."

We know it’s tough to find a home services contractor you can trust. With over six decades of experience, Blanton’s is a Raleigh and Fayetteville mainstay. Known for our professional approach, quality products. and guaranteed workmanship, we’re proud to offer heating, cooling, plumbing and electric solutions that knock your socks off.
"Cancelled all services with Blanton as well as this well pitched Wow Service Plan. Was given a good pitch about services provided. However, after scheduling twice for services provided by service plan, only to have them cancelled and told need to reschedule. Today is was need to reschedule because they are anticipating (four days from now) a high volume of emergency calls due to cold weather and freezing temperatures. What cold weather? 52 and 43 at night are not freezing temps; 69 and 67 daytime are not freezing temps. So you reschedule appointments four days in advance with no actual justification or confirmation the day of of what you think might happen? Sounds more like laziness or a reason not to fulfill appointments made almost two weeks prior. Second, why have an online system that allows you to book an appointment and date but when you call to complete the appointment process, tell us that the dates that show on the calendar as “available” don’t actually mean they are available? The lady I spoke to said they are run by two different departments. Sounds like you need to update your systems and booking process that actually shows dates of availability so customers don’t waste time picking a date that isn’t actually available and waste time. Or get rid of calendar option altogether so you cannot select a date that isn’t in “real” time."

Magnetrons burn out when their magnets crack, terminals overheat, or internal connections loosen. Excess heat does most of the damage, so make sure the vents stay clear and the unit has breathing room on all sides. Good airflow and routine cleaning go a long way toward keeping the magnetron alive.
Microwave diodes wear out after years of electrical stress or a sudden short. Telltale signs of a failed microwave diode include a loud hum or a sharp burning odor during a cycle. Catching those symptoms early and calling an appliance repair pro for replacement keeps the rest of the circuitry safe and the microwave heating properly.
Warning signs include no heat, sluggish cook times, sparks, odd noises, burning smells, or a unit that keeps running with the door open. A glitchy touchpad or a door that won’t latch also signals trouble. If the microwave is past its 10-year mark, those symptoms usually mean it’s time to repair or replace it.
It makes sense to fix a microwave if the repair costs less than a new unit and the appliance isn’t past its prime. Built-in or high-end models are good candidates for repair, while a budget countertop unit over 10 years old is usually cheaper to replace. Compare repair quotes with new‑purchase prices before you decide.
Wiping down the cavity weekly keeps grease from clogging vents and trapping heat around key parts. A quick steam‑clean with lemon, vinegar, or baking soda loosens stuck‑on food without harsh chemicals.
Sticking to a simple schedule reduces overheating, extends the microwave's lifespan, and helps it reach its full potential. Seeking advice from an appliance repair technician on maintenance tips can help you prolong the useful life of your microwave.
