He fixed my microwave quickly (while it was an easy DIY fix, I did not want to risk the shock myself if I didn’t discharge correctly, was glad I left to professional). He also very quickly assessed my fridge issue recommending it was not worth repairing as even a well done job would lead to leaking/floor damage down the line. I really appreciated that he was able to come out same day- also that while I was given a 3 hr window, I got an update when he was on his way and could even track his arrival time via the link he send me. Will definitely call again next time I need help with an appliance! Lastly, the service fee was applied to repair, and was lower than others I had contacted, which I appreciated as I knew I might be on replacement path instead of repair with the fridge!"

Vladimir called 24 hours later to check in with me as I was at work-with review his recommendations. Price was very reasonable in comparison to other plumbers. "I first called on the phone to discuss what I needed done. The person I talked to on the phone thought the hose bib + bathtub caulking would take about 2 hours, but scheduled it for 3-4 just in case. I was able to schedule a time within a week of calling, which was great. The handyman came right on time, and was very good to work with. We looked at the bathtub situation and decided it would be best if I worked on removing the old silicone caulk while he worked on the hose bib. It took about 4.5 hours to do the hose bib alone. It took me pretty much all of that time to remove the old caulk. He came back the next day to do the caulking, which took about 1 1/4 hours, and we spend the other 1/4 hour on him advising me about my other questions. The handyman was articulate, personable, and a good teacher. I have every reason to think he did a good job and worked fast. I trust him and like him. In retrospect however, the hose bib was not an appropriate job for me to have used this outfit, for my income situation. Their price ($248 for the first 2 hours, $47 for additional half hours) was too high. I appreciated that they were able to be so responsive (came within a week) but in the future, I would work much harder to think more clearly about my needs, plan ahead farther, and hire someone I have worked with before who charges $40/hour and works independently to do the hose bib ( he was booked into the future too far this time). The caulking of the bathtub, once I had removed the old caulk, was a job that made more sense for Mr. Handyman. I had the idea that Mr. Handyman would magically be able to remove the old caulk fast with special techniques, and then re-do it relatively quickly. I was led to believe the bathtub job would take about an hour, both by the person I talked to at Mr. Handyman, and also someone I talked to about a half year ago who I thought would have a good idea of how long it would take. So I was psychically prepared to pay about $350 for the two jobs and a little extra advise, and instead paid $750, with tax and all. In terms of the Angie's List questions about price, there was not a firm original estimate, so I could not compare the final cost with it. I don't have a way to evaluate the value of the work vis-a-vis the price, but it is too much for me to want to repeat it."

"White glove treatment is the best way to describe how Kitchen's Plus handled my kitchen project. From my first meeting with the designer to my final punch list review everything went very well. No high pressure sales, quality products/materials, and fantastic attention to detail and commitment to customer service. My PM, Tim Burr, made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. Even coming out on a Saturday morning to deal with a small drip from the kitchen sink. Regarding commitment to excellence, the tile installer noticed small imperfections on the back splash tile. He would not install an inferior product and ordered all new tile. I plan on using Kitchen's Plus again when I get around to remodeling my bathroom."

It has always been worth the monthly fee and deductibles. If you consider that most appliances today only last five years or so, breakdowns are going to be a given. Our most recent repair will require at least two service calls and an $1800 part. That more than pays for our entire year's fees."
