"Hired them to install a tankless water heater, which required an electrical upgrade from 30A to 120A. They handled everything with the panel, ran the new wiring without any damage to the drywall, and kept everything clean. They also added can lights in the ceiling of one room, and installed outdoor electrical outlets. They were fast, professional, and incredibly sharp. Definitely a go-to place for all your home electrical needs."

"Joe and his crew were top notch on our project! Several electrical panels were replaced at very reasonable rates, the work very well done by an efficient crew that cleaned up after themselves. We are already on their schedule for more work!"

"Electrician Alex was a complete professional in every way. We upgraded some electrical outlets in crawlspace, outside outlets, which included a generator hookup that works perfectly. His work speaks for itself and we were completely satisfied. Alex is so personal and we were so comfortable having him in our home. What a great guy! We will exclusively call Alex from here on out for any electrical needs. RENEW ELECTRICgets our highest recommendation."

"We had In-House Electrical replace/upgrade our main panel as well as setup a generator hook-up and A/C outlet outside. Adam and Avery were phenomenal - they were thorough, kept in constant communication with me during the project to ensure things were being done as I liked, and left the place looking better than when they showed up. They'll be my first call in the future for any electrical work I need done."

"Pretty happy with Live Wire. quoted reasonable price for installing NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage. Got my model-3 and the outlet is working. Live Wire did quality job and some company out there wants to charge twice as much for the exact same job Live Wire did."

"Took about 2.5 days to remove an antiquated panel, meter and mast and replace with a more modern one. They also cleaned up a bunch of wiring issues in the house and ran conduit and power for an HVAC system. I am still pending power company inspection, but I'm sure the work will pass easily."

"Great! Aaron did a great job helping figure out how to get a new 60 amp line run in the backyard Austin and Owen did a perfect job with the new electrical panel, running the new line, and upgrading the grounding. Everything was coordinated and done right on time. They explained the new system and all the work they did. They also went above and beyond to workaround an issue with the number of outlets we needed (extra time working outside in the rain in January!)"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Duvall, WA

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
