Project Location: East Lansing, MI Date: 01/26/24What best describes your need?: NAWhy do you need help with your sewer pipe?: Plumber/other pro recommended itComment: 56-Year old house/sewer in East Lansing (north subdivision). Basement floor drain (connected to sewer has started to gurgle). Two companies have done camera inspection. Sewer line (4" cast iron under basement floor + 6" clay tile to East Lansing sewer main). No major issues identified, there are a couple of "bellys." Main problem appears to be calcium deposits and scale in the clay tile that causes impediment to the flow of water/toilet paper. *Definitely need a FULL/COMPLETE clean-out of the 4" cast iron pipe & 6" clay tile (large cleaning head + full flush of water to clear the line all the way to main sewer. One company has also recommended ADVANCED CLEANING OF PIPE & RELINING OF THE SEWER PIPE. Excavation & replacement of sewer is NOT FEASIBLE (logistically or financially - line is under porch, large tree, driveway, and the sewer main is very deep. 1) NEED TO DETERMINE WHETHER FULL CLEAN-OUT & FULL FLUSH OF SEWER LINE WILL BE SUFFICIENT, AND 2) WHETHER RELINING (after clean-out) IS REALLY NECESSARY - COST VS BENEFIT.
