"I have used Stiles Stump Removal for the last 5 years each time we have a tree removed.  Tim is an honest guy, very prompt (usually you can get your stump removed the same day you call).  We have had him remove atleast  7 stumps from our yard. On this occasion I was having some landscaping work done and needed a stump removed for the planting of a new tree.  I called and left a message in Tim's voicemail.  Later that day he stopped by to give me an estimate.  The price was his minimum amount and he was able to do the work right then.   He uses a  large remote controlled stump grinder that he is able to maneuver very well through tight spaces. He is very careful and even asks about underground dog fences before starting to grind the stump.  The landscapers were very pleased with the space he had worked in.  They dug out all of the woodchips and the new tree ball had more than enough room in the resulting hole."

"Rick came out and provided detailed description of how flooring is done, provided booklet and samples of stone. Rick was able to answer questions better than the "one day instillation" competitor's salesman. All decorative stone was priced the same. The "one day instillation" competitor has different price ranges for their decorative stone. Everstone owners did prep work to existing garage flooring . I was impressed by this because if the base is not done correctly then this effects the finish product. Edging perfect. Even my garage door installer said that this finished product looks better than the "one day installation" competitor."

"Able to select remnant piece of granite at their store. When installation scheduled, they arrived on time and did an excellent job. Cleaned up after their installation. Had used them in 2009 for kitchen counter top. Would use again if needed."

"The first job they were quite expensive but did a very nice job.  The second job they more economical but the quality of the work was not as high, so we did not include them in the bid we were doing this year to have our back yard done.  I got the feeling they used the second job as fill work to do when they had no other jobs, so they didn't do it continuously and the quality suffered.  They didn't get it done in the timeframe we asked for before we were leaving town, so our neighbors ended up having to water the new seed while we were gone and they didn't do it right, so the lawn died in that spot."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in East Canton, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
