"I seldom ever write evaluations for companies I use to maintain my home's utilities. When I do either, it's to praise the person or the business on their service or to call attention to any faults I've noticed. I needed to schedule an appointment with Tradewind Irrigation LLC setup my system for the winter. I made a phone appointment with someone. The man promptly gave me choices for an appointment and was professional and informed. When the technician arrived, I was surprised to see that it was the same person who had assisted me over the phone. Eric called to check in with me before starting the operation where he introduced himself. He was courteous, friendly, as well as professional. When he arrived, he reviewed his plan of action succinctly and completed it in no time at all. Before leaving, he updated me that everything went smoothly and without any issues. Based on my interaction with Eric, I would like to recommend Tradewind Irrigation LLC which hires some of the best people"

"We interviewed a number of the top-rated irrigation companies before having Fournier install a full-lawn and garden watering system on our property. Fournier stood out as the best from our initial contact, to the detail of the estimate and plan, to the quality of their work. A special mention to the point person on the job Adam M. He was prompt and thorough answering all questions. If he said something would happen by a certain date, it happened. Fournier also went the extra mile installing lighting conduit for an outdoor lighting system we had installed by the also excellent Bahler Brothers. I didn't have to coordinate anything, the two companies worked together seamlessly. A week or two after the system was installed, Adam came back to make sure it was working properly and I understood how to use the app to set programs etc. First rate from start to finish."

"Very professional operation. Used a new machine to get to the taller branches. They asked us if everything was as we wanted throughout the day. The Beech tree was over 90 feet tall and very large."

"I could not be happier with my choice. Shawn was professional, friendly, and knowlegable from first contact. He was not the cheapest nor the most expensive estimate I received to complete the work. His quote included more than the cheaper and more expensive estimates I had received. Once hired he began immediately and removed the trees from the house in the first day. It took a little time to complete the job but his concern was the ruin of a lawn in pristine condition. He waited for the ground to dry before starting the portion of the work that required heavy equipment. The lot is also on a very steep downward angle . I feel that he completed the job in a timely manner considering that the weather continued to work against him. Upon finishing he left the property in excellent condition. He removed the 7 foot diameter root ball as well so one would never know the wreck it all had been . The only tell tale sign is where he graded, seeded, and fertilized the portion on the yard where the trees had fallen and gouged the ground."

"Would not recommend to my worst enemy. They were contracted to come mow every week on a strict schedule. This is going on three weeks with zero mowing. They are supposed to mow, weed whack, and blow off our porches. They don’t weed whack or blow off porches. And when they do come, they either sit under a tree on their phones, sit in their truck and never get out, drive by on the mower without the blades engaged, or do a very poor and rushed mowing job and patches of grass are missed like a five year old giving their brother a “haircut”."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in East Hartland, CT

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
