"I am very pleased with the back-yard patio Conrad and his crew installed. Cost was very competitive. Timeline for project was very close to original estimate. Conrad was very helpful in helping us make final design decisions, especially on picking the paver block style and color. He also promptly addressed all of me concerns, even though they were mostly minor. His crew also worked with me to get the final outline of the patio, with many curves. Del Mar Landscaping is definitely on the top of my list for any future landscaping work."

"I went on the internet to find a contractor to resurface our driveway. CSI responded first. They went to my house on their own initiative, and called me at my office to discuss the work. Subsequently they sent me three quotes. I chose an option, sent them a signed contract, and scheduled the repair. They came at the appointment time, worked efficiently, and had the right equipment, materials, and crew. The job was to patch broken areas of an asphalt driveway, then apply a sealer coat."

"Very well. The men worked very hard in very hot weather. They completed the job a day early. They always left me a text when they took a break or needed to pick up something and they cleaned up their mess. I am very pleased and will use them when I’m ready to work on the side yard."

"Pride paving was great to work with. Ezekiel helped with a bunch of our properties here in South OC and even went above and beyond the scope of work. I would highly recommend for commercial and residential property owners."

"I highly recommend working with 4 Season Remodeling & design. Our remodeling project included a complete kitchen remodeling, the removal of a wall, the removal and installation of new floors throughout the entire house, the replacement of the electrical rewiring, and several other upgrades to our old flip house. Jacob and his team transformed the house into a stunning modern lovely place. Our old and ancient kitchen is now so beautiful, and we love using it and spend a lot of time cooking in it! we were continually impressed by the high quality of the work they did. The remodeling project was finished on time even though we had few numbers of difficulties along the work. All the workers came to work on time and were also very polite. Each time we asked any changes, touch-ups, or adjustments Jacob returned to us right away to make sure we were pleased with the work. We also appreciate all the help they offered in making design options during the remodeling project. Overall, we had a wonderful experience working with Jacob, and we will definitely hire 4 Season Remodeling & design again for future projects!"

"I usually don't use the cliche "we couldn't be happier," but we really couldn't be happier with our new paver driveway installed by Falkon. We solicited three bids from companies found on Angie's list. One estimate was really high. A second estimate seemed too good (low) to be true. Based on the Angie's List ratings, I expected Falkon to be about halfway between the two, but the Falkon was almost the same as the "too good to be true" estimate. After researching more and viewing the Falkon website which included past project photos, we selected Falkon for the project. Honestly, at first, I thought Val kind of rushed through the estimate/walkthrough, especially when compared to the experience I had with the other two contractors we spoke with. I'm not saying this to complain. I'm bringing this up to suggest that if you have a similar experience/feeling, don't let that scare you away. Val was always responsive to our needs throughout the decision-making process and the actual project. He never blew us off or made us feel like we were bothering him. Besides, what really counted was the execution of the project and the results. Both were outstanding. Val's crew appeared very experienced. They were punctual and professional. The progress they made each day was phenomenal. We have a pretty large driveway - approximately 1200 square feet with some curving on the borders. Day 1 - Demolished and removed/hauled away old asphalt driveway. Graded soil. Day 2 - Placed underlayments and compacted/graded again Day 3 - Placed all pavers - except for border. Day 4 - Placed bordering pavers and cut inner pavers meeting the border. We requested angled pattern requiring more (and angled) cuts. (By the way, we love the angled paver pattern. Worth the extra effort and cost.) Day. 5 - Filled in gaps between pavers. (about half day). Day 6 - Originally planned, but not needed because everything was completed on Day 5. We highly recommend Falkon Construction for any paver project you are considering."

"We couldn't be happier with the results - we called several local landscapers for estimates and after meeting with them all we decided to go with Seth - his price was not the lowest however his estimated timeline to get the job done was what we were looking for - fast and efficient - he also worked with us changing the scope around to work with our budget and offering creative solutions - his estimated time to finish the job was 2 weeks but Seth and his amazing crew got the job done in 1 week - we would defiantly use Seth again and highly recommend him"

"<br>JJ came on time and cleaned and polished our granite and marble counter tops.  One of the black granite countertops had a stain on it, likely from a cleaning chemical.  I didn't think they would ever get it off, but it's gone!   <br> <br>Our marble countertop looked horrible after 7 years and had stains, scratches and other marks; after their treatment it actually looks new.  The owner said at the time of quoting that he could make it look new, but I didn't believe him.  He also regrouted some areas of this countertop that were not done right in the first place. <br> <br>In addition they cleaned some bathroom floor tile in 3 bathrooms that also had some deep stains and muddy looking grout.  They look new as well!  They also improved the appearance of certain areas I didn't expect them to work on. <br> <br> <br>The job cost exactly what they quoted.  The only thing they could improve, in my opinion, is to send a pdf invoice; instead the invoice was written out in an email. <br> <br> <br>I would absolutely use JJ again and recommend them to anyone.  They surpassed my expectations. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br>"

"Roni and his assistant arrived on time and completed the job in one day as projected. <br /> Their craftsmanship was excellent and the floor looks great.  Roni is very courteous <br /> and professional both during our estimate consultation and the day of installation. <br /> We used an Angie's List coupon of $499 which covered tiles, supplies and labor for <br /> 40 square feet.  Our floor was 55 square feet so we paid $350 for the extra square <br /> footage and a $100 fee for moving our washer, dryer and refrigerator. <br /> We also had Roni clean and seal another area of  travertine  tile floor in our entry foyer. <br /> We would not hesitate to recommend RAP to our friends. <br />"

"They built a new garage at my place. I wanted to spend a little bit more for that project but I requested high quality job. This company gave me exactly that. They worked quickly but were accurate and didn't made mistakes. With no issues they finished before estimate time and my new garage is fantastic. Golden Line Construction is highly recommendable company."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in East Los Angeles, CA

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
