"Our 4-year-old microwave stopped working (no display, nothing). After doing some research online I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It started humming very loudly and displayed a PF (power failure) error, indicating a blown fuse or a control board failure. Wintley Baptiste from The Equipment Doctors stopped by two days after I made contact through Angi. He diagnosed the problem as a failed control board and said he would have to order the part and come back in 7-10 days to install it. He gave me an estimated price for the part and labor to install it and asked if I wanted to proceed. I said yes (if I had said no, I would owe $150 for the visit and diagnosis). Wintley called a week later, saying he had the part and could stop by that same day to install it. He did so and the microwave is working fine. The price to repair the microwave was $330. By comparison, a new microwave would have cost at least $500."

After the part arrived on Thursday, I called to see if I could get it installed on Friday before the holiday weekend. I was assured Tom could make it. He arrived late in the day, finished the repair around 5pm and still had another job to do. In spite of his long day and warm weather, Tom was pleasant. For the diagnosis and repair, they put me on the schedule for the day but could not confirm a time. While this was inconvenient, I appreciated their responsiveness."
