"Express Sunrooms did excellent work on screening in my 12x12 patio. They called me back right away and gave me the best price out of 4 companies. The cost was nearly half of what others quoted."

"We had a disaster at our house. Shower pan leaked and ruined the floors in 2 bathrooms. Avery rebuilt both of them. He was easy to communicate with, had good suggestions and kept everything neat and cleaned up everyday when he left. I enjoyed working with him on this project. He won't disappoint you. Thx for the great job. I will keep him on my list for any future projects. He stayed within the budget which was really a concern."

"I was sitting at home one day waiting on another company to measure my roof and give me an estimate. The door bell rang and they was right on time. Nope it was this company showing up unannounced, said they was in the neighborhood and wanted to see if it was ok to measure, I explained I had someone coming and I wouldn't have time, he said no problem because he doesn't sit down with me anyway. they email and mail the estimate. I said go ahead and he finished to about 5 minutes and was gone, no climbing on the roof or anything. I am sure that is ok but if I am going to spend 10k or better on something, I want a sit down for that and I am sure I am not alone on that.  <br /> The C instead of an F is, he did mail and email me promptly. If he would just had done business like most people and at least called me back and set a schedule, I probably would have given him the work. The estimate was a little high but not crazy and they are family business and that is the kind I love supporting. <br />"

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"The job went very well. BHR's team worked every day and showed up when they stated they would be there. We never had any problems with the workers. They were always polite and worked tirelessly. I would highly recommended BHR for any remodeling job large or small. I have used them in my personal home many times and will use BHR again. BHR's prices are very reasonable. I couldn't ask for a better company to do my remodeling."

"This is the reason I subscribe to Angie's List, to find quality companies like Window World. The company has been around for many years, and the local franchise has installation techs that have been on-board for years.  To me, that's a sign the company is good to work for.  <br /> Starting with the first contact, the rep brought over samples of window glaze with a heat lamp & Crookes radiometer and vinyl siding for demonstrations. There were no high-pressure sales tactics by Mark our rep; only a recommendation for the products that would be right for the house, and not what was most expensive.  After that initial contact, my wife and I took a couple weeks to decide and gather other estimates. It was no contest. When it came to estimates and tax considerations, and quality of work, Window World has them beat.  <br /> The removal and installation phase was methodical and thorough. Attention was paid to detail with verbal progress reports periodically.  Any questions I had were answered.  I was told the installers, Tyler and Truit (sp?) have worked together as a team for the company for years. They handled every aspect of the contract with very good results. They cleaning up daily, and covered unfinished areas if it looked like rain was coming. Which brings me to one of two suggestions when it comes to having work like this done...  We held off having the work done until the fall because of seasonal plants around the house and because of pre-existing termite damage that had to be dealt with. However, the termite damage repair (by Borden Pest Control) went on far too long, and not done correctly as the Window World installers discovered and amended. The consequence was having work start when it was too cold, (especially in the mornings) to work with vinyl siding materials.  Tyler managed his time well by doing other things like metal fabrication in the freezing weather, but there was only so much that could be done until the temps got warmer.  To add to the freezing weather issues, there were many consecutive days of hard rain. He apologized often and said a job like this would normally take a fraction of the time, but there really wasn't anything that could be done about the weather. Botton line: Look forward a couple weeks to see how the weather is going to be. <br /> The other suggestion is, if you can afford it, to have all the work, (siding, windows, doors, etc) performed on one contract. There is a preferred, logical, order of work to make things easier on the installers. There was a package discount as well.  <br /> Overall quality:  I expected the outcome to be good, (given what we had on our residence already), but the result was far better than I imagined.  We haven't had a warranty work request yet, but if or when that time comes, it shouldn't be an issue. It appears they are prompt at answering warranty calls in reading other posts.  I will update this post to reflect any warranty work. <br /> Price: Initially, there was some sticker shock in all the estimates I received from different companies. But a little research showed this was a good price. There were no cost adjustments on my part, in the work outlined on the estimate and contract. Case-in-point: Grovetown unexpectedly, and considerably, raised their permit fees. Window World assumed that added cost. Lastly. if there was any question on building materials specified, Window World gave me the benefit of the doubt.  They did have very low interest financing available, but if you can swing it, use a points-based Amex and pay it off at the end of the month for added bonus. Payment was made with 50% up front, and 50% upon completion and inspection.  <br /> Afterthought: The rep and installers gave suggestions when asked, for color and material styling to make a home look updated. This was very helpful. <br /> <br /> Update (April 2015):  All windows, doors, and siding working as they should. Still very happy with the quality of work."

"South Point Roofing & Construction did what they contracted to do, on schedule, and without hidden charges. As a homeowner, I have had (too) many experiences dealing with contractors who promise a project at a certain price and fail to deliver quality work or find every excuse to charge more for the work than they estimated. After having my roof replaced by South Point, I doubt I'll ever have such an experience again, because I will have them do ALL the work on my home in the future! If you need quality work done professionally, promptly, and for a fair price, South Point is your best option. My experience began by using their website to explain what I wanted done. I completed the on-line form and received a call from Christie the next business day. She confirmed the information I submitted and set up an appointment for Tucker Hawley to come look at the job. Tucker arrived and discussed what I wanted done and made suggestions for the project. He was extremely helpful and took time to explain how the project would progress from the estimate all the way through the process of collecting final payment. I expected him to send me an estimate by email after he took some measurements at the house, but he was far too efficient for that. He accurately measured the square footage of my roof using their drone in a matter of minutes. From there, he was able to produce a full materials list, allow my wife to select the shingles that would look best on our home, and schedule a time for work to begin. Within an hour, Tucker had a contract prepared, our deposit was paid, and the work was scheduled! Before leaving, Tucker explained the buildertrend App, which allowed me to access the schedule for my job, review all documents related to the work, and, most importantly, view photos of my home as work was completed. Right on schedule, the materials were delivered to my home. I received a notification on my phone and pictures of the shingles and other materials (including the invoice) on my phone through the App. The next morning, the construction crew was here and work began. Throughout the day, I continued to receive photos of their work. When problems were uncovered they would document the damage and the repair(s) done to correct the problem. This continued for the next two days until the rain came and delayed progress. As efficient as they had been everywhere else, I was frankly concerned they would be worried about getting to the next job while finishing my work with a skeleton crew. Instead, it seemed their effort redoubled. Schedule changes were updated on the App and Christie, Tucker, and Billy Hawley stayed in contact to keep me advised of what was going on. Unfortunately, counting on the original schedule, I had scheduled Dish to re-install the satellite dish on the new roof Thursday afternoon. (South Point could do this, but other work unrelated to the roof needed to be done by Dish too). When the Dish technician arrived the roof wasn't finished, but South Point's job supervisor worked with him to get my satellite dish reinstalled as they continued the work on the roof. When the work was done, all evidence they had been working seemed to disappear. No nails were left behind, trash was hauled away, and everything was clean. Aside from the beautiful new roof it was like they hadn't been here. I could not be happier with the appearance and quality of my new roof. Several friends saw the work as it was being done and commented on how great it looks. One of them who was in the construction business for several years commented favorably on the quality of the materials they were using and the work being done. I will unhesitatingly recommend South Point to all of my friends for any construction work that needs to be done, and they will be my first call for any work I need in the future."

"After they had left I saw a piece of shingle lying on roof. I was concerned that a piece had either come off or maybe it was just a piece left behind. I called the company and spoke with Robert Hardy the estimator. He stated that he would send the roofer back out. He never came. About a week later I call the company again and spoke with someone in office. She said she would try to get the roofer back out. He called me Friday April 10 and told me he would for sure come by next day (Saturday) and check it. As of this writing I have neither seen nor heard from anyone from the company. They were all so nice in the beginning I thought I had found someone that would be dependable. Now i'm not sure I would call them again. <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Edgefield, SC

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
