"Several months ago, I noticed that doors in my house were no longer closing and latching. Specifically, my front door no longer locked completely. Once I got it fully locked I could no longer open my front door anymore, so I knew I had foundation issues. I called Bay Area Underpinning to come look at my foundation and do some measurements. We discovered that my front living room was sinking approximately one and a half to 2 inches. The crew, Lance Sladek, Jake Hall, and Eddie Shaw, crawled under my house and dug 30 to 40 foot holes in the ground to install piers that would lift my foundation. These gentlemen worked in very cramped dirty conditions in 90-100° weather. I was extremely happy with their work and their dedication to doing the job correctly. My after the foundation lift, my front door as well as several other doors in my home were able to close and latch again."

"We had the pleasure of doing business with Nationwide Solar for the installation of our new system. We interviewed 4 providers total and Nationwide was not only the least expensive, but was also providing top of the line Panasonic panels. Frank and his very professional team installed and configured a 7.5kWh system on our home and had it installed and ready for inspection in 2 days. Sales: Frank (Owner) came to our house and was an instant hit compared to the competition. He is extremely knowledgeable and was a wealth of information and made it very easy to understand the technology and the process. His professionalism and wit made us feel comfortable and he was easy to converse with. He listened to our needs and guided us with multiple options and even cautioned us when we asked for certain items that we really would not see any return on, but like he said, I’ll do anything you want. Project Team: The team showed up when they said they would and got right to work. The site was always kept clean and orderly with no real mess. His team of installers and electrician were very professional and always eager to answer our questions. The only item we had a bit of an issue was the builder of our home putting in the incorrect gauge wire from the hook up to the interior electrical panel. Frank came onsite to check out the issue and easily and quickly fixed the issue, even though it was not his error. There was no drama and no additional charges, it just got fixed. they started on a Wednesday and finished up on the following Monday with two inspections by the city on Friday and Monday. Conclusion: Cradle to grave, Nationwide Solar is an outstanding organization and this project went very well. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone better and I have no problem recommending Nationwide Solar to any of my family and friends. Oh, make sure to ask Frank “What is the air velocity speed of an unladen shallow?”"

"We had attempted to replace a cracked shower drain cover ourselves, and ended up cracking the drain pipe. Based on my initial inquiry, uncertain if there was a little fix or if it would be a big project, Teri first responded by email suggesting a band-aid fix using caulk. I was extremely grateful for the suggestion. This is one of my favorite things about SHEcan2: that Teri will talk you out of a project that shouldn't be done, or help find the affordable solution, so that in the end you are happy with the final decision. The caulk didn't work to seal the drain, so she came out right away to take a look and give us a quote. At the same time we looked at a (related) mystery leak and discussed how to investigate that at the same time. Since our budget is constrained by child-care costs, I was very grateful that Teri made suggestions for how to keep the project more affordable, while achieving all objectives. I was also impressed and grateful that she was able to immediately get us scheduled, since I know that sometimes they are booked months out. At the start of the project there were a couple delays due to another project running over and a truck dying, but otherwise the work was done in 2 days + a few hours for the second coat of mud and texturing. We are very happy with the new shower surround and faucet. I only had two complaints. The first was that the discussion of the side objective of investigating our mystery leak did not get communicated clearly to the workman, so I had to bring it up to him directly. The second was cleanup: he put a drop cloth down on part of the bedroom carpet during part of the work, but it didn't prevent paster dust from his shoes being tracked through the house, and there was significant difficult-to-clean plaster dust on the carpet and smears of plaster on the bathroom floor."

"It pays to work with a professional.  Dave's experience and knowledge are helpful in one stop get it right work. in this case all work was free-hand, previous owneres had an obnoxious color red in the kithchen.  We toned down to a soft pastel yellow.  Used a priver coat, and all areas behind stove, refrigerator, around cabinetry.  Looks dynamite!  <br /> I had earlier hired Dave to cover another awful dark brown on 3 walls of the living room, Vaulted ceiling in part.  He was able to do this in one coat! Thick roller, good quality paint ( I provided ), and in 5 hrs, i was able to ask my wife how she liked her new house!   Like night to day, the change. It was really dark especially in the winter.  Cleans up after work, leaves the place looking well cared for.  I highly recommend his work! <br />"

"I contacted MackConstruction about the some work I needed done. Mike the owner of the company was very helpful and made an appointment to format a bid the next day. After our first meeting I was very impressed with Mike's knowledge and costumer service he answer all my question and recommended several ways I could save money. That night I received his estimate via email and my job was scheduled for the coming Monday . When Mike and his crew arrived they all introduced themselves and imedentally got to work. Mike took the time explain all the work that he was going to do and an give me a time frame so the work wouldn't inconvenience me in any way. Day after day Mike's crew showed up and started working being very respectful of my neighbors lawn an making sure not to let my dog get out. At the end of each day they cleaned up where they were working picked up all there tools and left no garbage or debris around. Before I knew it my house was painted I had a beautiful redwood fence a new driveway an a custom gate to go with it. Everything came out exactly like I wanted it and it took less than a week."

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in El-dorado, CA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
