"I am extremely pleased with MILEX (MILO insulation). Work was done June 7 & 8, 2021. I have noticed a significant improvement in my home. Very professional, on time, worked nonstop except for a lunch break the first day (removing all old insulation- it was a MESS!). Worked nonstop the 2nd day - blowing in the insulation. I donâ  t hesitate to recommend to anyone and everyone"

".I saw a TV commercial for Cedar Ridge vinyl siding that is so strong that can't be damaged even by a truck running over it. I checked out the company with BBB and Angie's List and then called them for an appointment. The salesman arrived on time and was professional. He brought one sample of the siding-it was thick vinyl with a very thick dense hard foam core (the foam core was yellow in color) that he said was permanently fused at the factory. The estimate was $30,762 for my small 1200 square foot home(If I signed the contract right then). I told him I couldn't afford that much and apologized for wasting his time. About 10 days later, the company called me and wanted to know why I didn't sign a contract and I told them because I couldn't afford it. They wanted to send out another salesman who was the owner's son and was authorized to give me a discount because I was an elderly widow. I told them not to waste their time unless he could give me a large discount. They assured me that he could. He arrived on time and remeasured the house. He lowered the price by $6,000 and included 7 replacement windows for my sun porch--just regular size windows.
I was going to write everything but this is too complicated. So summary: The salesman attempted a bait and switch. I found out they don't have a product like the sample that I was shown. I have kept a sample of what they attempted to install on my house. They just show up whenever they want to do the installation, without first calling. If I had not been home to examine the product, I may not have been able to determine the inferior quality of the product just by viewing the installed vinyl. I have kept extensive written notes. The salesman sent a second product which was only slightly thicker styrofoam than the first. I told him the product that I had agreed to purchase was in one piece and fused at the factory. He (the owner's son) stated that the first salesman was incorrect and that they had no product like that. He stated that the sample was just glued together to make for easy presentation. It was quite obvious from talking to this young man that he equated "elderly widow" with "stupid".
After mentioning Angie's List, he finally decided to order the quality of siding that I had paid for.  The installers showed up again on June 10-not with anything that looked like the sample I had been shown but I felt the quality was fairly close to what I had been shown and it was in one piece so I allowed them to install it.
The only good thing I have to say about this company is that the installers that came out with the final product were excellent. They were Lonnie, Cecil and Jack. They were courteous, professional and answered all of my questions. They did a superb job of installing the product.
I really wouldn't call this company again because of the dishonesty of the owner's son-- in position of salesman. Also, the work was completed and paid for on June 14 and just today, July 25, after calling the company last week and again this week I finally received the warranty brochure. I wish I had called Sears for a price quote before going with this company. I wonder if other people have been duped with the inferior product because it was installed while they were not at home. It turns out that there are several different types of the Cedar Ridge siding. I would warn anyone who uses this company to get a sample of what is to be installed and to make sure they inspect the product that is delivered. Also be sure to read the back of the contract before you sign on the front. That was not shown to me. I just saw it the next day and it is quite intimidating, If you allow a wall of siding to be installed, you are stuck with it.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

FAQs for spray foam insulation projects in Elk City, OK

Local and federal rebates are available for insulation installation, which can significantly reduce your overall costs. Many utility companies offer incentives or rebates to homeowners who improve their home's energy efficiency. Contact your local energy provider or government agencies to learn about available programs in your area, and consult with a professional insulation installer to maximize your savings.

It's not necessary to remove old insulation before adding new insulation, as long as the existing insulation is in good condition—dry, free of mold, and not damaged. Adding new insulation on top of old insulation can improve your home's energy efficiency by increasing the overall R-value. However, if the old insulation is wet, moldy, or damaged, it's best to remove it before installing new insulation to prevent potential health risks and ensure optimal performance.

Insulating a house takes between five and twelve hours for batts or boards, and two to five hours for spray foam or blown-in insulation. The exact time depends on the size of your home, the type of insulation, and the accessibility of the areas being insulated. Keep in mind that projects may take longer if old insulation needs removal, if there's a larger square footage, or if spaces are difficult to reach.
