"McDonough's is my go-to for any drain problems!  The guys who came were very professional, helpful and all around great.  They worked a tough clog out of the drain line coming from the laundry room, then checked the main sewer line from the house and did some preventative clearing on some roots (the house has a history of roots clogging the main line and McDonough's has cleared it twice already, which the guys knew so they checked while they were already there and had the equipment ready).  The work was well done, they replaced some aging parts proactively, and they cleaned everything up like they had never been there.  Fantastic!

"I had used Jon in the past for an outdoor shutoff valve a few years ago, and he was outstanding, down-to-earth and fair in price. Those days are clearly gone. The visit began with rolling out a (literal) red carpet at my front door (I knew I was in trouble at that point). The plumber did a complete inspection of all my plumbing in the house (I did not request this), in order to make additional suggestions for improvements and wrote up a very detailed bid of the job and future options. The prices for the leaky shower faucet were SKY HIGH! I brought this company in as a second opinion and had a bid from a competitor (equally good service, equally qualified plumbers ) , so I had an idea what market rate was. They were fully TRIPLE the cost! I had to basically negotiate to get the price down and asked them to leave my home 2 times during the visit. I finally got them down to about $200 more than what the competitor bid and agreed to the price, just get the job done after so much song and dance and sales mumbo-jumbo, laminated flip charts, etc. etc. I will say, the plumber did outstanding work and was very nice and professional, but I would rather just have a plain, no-glitz plumber like the old days. "Outstanding!! In no time, the drains were running free and clear of that disgusting buildup that I never knew existed. This contractor definitely knew what he was doing. Before leaving he carefully cleaned the little bit of unavoidable mess (really really minimal!) and all I had to do was return a few displaced household items from under my sink. I was extremely happy with the service which is guaranteed for 90 days. Scheduling was very flexible and, upon arrival, the contractor went right to work, not wasting any time. He was very pleasant and answered all my questions. Great service at a great price! Contractor had a service coupon on Angies List that I used and cost was lowest I found anywhere (well below $100). "Great plumber!  If you're looking for an honest, thorough and affordable plumber I wouldn't look any further.

 I had problems with low pressure in my hot water.  I got three estimates and the other two guys (Southtown and Roark) insisted on replacing all the hot water steel pipes in the basement right to the water main for $3000-$4000.  

Chris had a much more reasonable approach.  He gave me an estimate with three choices 1)re-piping the first 10 feet or so, 2)re-piping all the hot steel pipes in the basement and 3) re-piping all the hot and cold steel pipes in the basement.  He was very flexible and said that he would try the least expensive option first, then if it didn't work, he would try the 2nd and 3rd if necessary.  He had two of his employees come out to do the re-piping.  It turned out that the least expensive option worked great, so I only had to spend a few hundred bucks.  Compared to the other estimates I got Chris saved me $2000-$3000.  Also, his estimate for repiping all the steel pipes was still less than half of what the other guys wanted to do the same work.  Chris came by after the piping was done and also fixed my problematic kitchen faucet for only an extra 50 bucks while he was here.  I'd definitely use them again."
