"Great company! Hunter came in and looked at the project we needed done and gave an estimate in 15 minutes! He then sat us down with a bunch of photos of previous work he and his crew completed and we were sold! Offered large discounts compared to other contractors we got estimates from. His crew and him did our entire master bathroom in a week start to finish! It turned out better than I could have imagined! I highly recommend Indy aces construction! Thanks Hunter!"

"Well! An appointment was set and the work coordinated and scheduled very quickly. The place in the yard looks even better than before the problem and the issue was corrected and I learned a lot about my septic system that will be useful in the future. I highly recommend."

"We would hire Baker Stonework again. Charley and Mike gave us a lot of information as we decided which contractor to go with. <br /> They helped diagnose our drainage problems and gave us good recommendations on how to fix them. We were pleased with the quality of the work, the care they took with our yard and how well they cleaned up. They went "above and beyond" in the care they took in fixing the basement walls that needed tuckpointed. They even fixed the creaky basement door. <br /> The price might be a touch higher than other contractors, but I think got what we paid for. One year later, their repairs are holding up perfectly. <br />"

"The guys came out and put my backyard fence in as well as a 40’ concrete sidewalk. They do it how you want the fence placed within parameters. They worked hard and were done in about a week or so! Concrete looked amazing! Thanks guys!"

"I contacted Sure Seal Restorations for an inspection on my home for storm damage from a storm that happened last summer. They came out to do the inspection the same day! Jason and Derek were very professional as they helped me through the insurance claims process and were able to get me a new roof, gutters, gutter guards, and siding. The workers were also very professional during the installation and did an awesome job making sure all of the trash was collected before they left. I have already recommended them to my neighbors and will highly recommend them in the future."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Ellettsville, IN

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
