"Norb was quick to show up for the estimate, and gave a contract price that I felt was acceptable given the difficulty I had finding a contractor to commit to doing the work. He kept in good communication leading up to, and throughout, completion of the job. The total work from start to finish took about five or six business days. PROS - The flooring turned out excellent, and Norb gave good suggestions on the type and color of the flooring for the space. I would definitely hire him again for flooring install. The installation of the bathtub itself, tub and shower fixtures, and the toilet turned out good, and the leak ended up fixed. CONS - He did not test his plumbing after his initial installs, which led to two separate times that I tested it, and the new plumbing leaked. Of course, simple mistakes are easy to make, and one of the new leaks was a faulty part, but plumbers should know to test their plumbing before giving people the OK to use. Each time, he was responsive and fixed it immediately, it just made the process much more frustrating. Also, the paint job was less than professional. Half of the white trim is now painted blue, including the trim of the bathroom door which is literally half blue and half white. We never discussed painting the trim, and I'm not sure why anyone would. He also damaged sections of my front brick patio in the process of ripping out the old tub, and neither offered to fix it nor offered to reduce the cost of the job to allow me to pay a mason to come repair it, even after I mentioned the damage to him. Overall, the bathroom looks great at first glance, and the leak is fixed. I would only hire him again to install new flooring, which he was great at."

"We decided to make some changes to a home we purchased. 1. JDI very efficiently met all our requests from converting the house from a coal heating furnace to a propane heating system that was all ready in place, but not in use. 2. JDI cleaned the basement and sealed the basement floor so that we could store things that made the move with us. 3. JDI also built a deck behind the house as well as painting and repairing the front deck of the house. 4. JDI replaced an older electric stove with a new gas stove and replaced the hot water heater for the house. 5. And last but not least, JDI renovated the two stalls for my two horses."

Very pleasant experience. Mr. Brockway was prompt in returning my call and scheduling a visit. He arrived on the promised date and time. I went through the various items we wanted him to address on a 1950 era home, and detached garage with very neglected wood siding that required a lot of sanding to provide a paintable surface. He listened -- a key attribute to a good outcome. Mr. Brockway made a number of suggestions that were accepted as his ideas ensured a better and more visually pleasing outcome. For example, his suggestions on downspout placement provided a much improved visual as well as more efficient drainage. His crew added finish details that were not specified in the contract but were done as just part of the job - no added cost. Excepting weather delays, Mr. Brockway and his crew completed all work (original request and added work) on time and budget. Quality of work was excellent. Our experience with Brockway Contracting was very successful because:

-- He did what he promised, honored his estimates, provided a skilled and hard working crew, and an excellent end result.

-- An elderly neighbor mentioned to Mr. Brockway that he had a problem. Mr. Brockway corrected the issue at no charge to the neighbor or me. I got this from the neighbor. Many contractors would have given the neighbor an estimate. Even though the owner is gone our relationship with the neighbors is of continued importance.

-- At the final inspection I noticed a few minor changes (cosmetic) that I wanted. Mr. Brockway promised to make the changes - no added cost.

Overall this was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend Blaze Brockway Contracting.
