"Exotic Tile exceeded our expectations! They’re a diverse company who helped us with removing a marble fireplace and replacing it with beautifully laid, white wash brick, and recreated the same matching look in our kitchen. We loved them so much we also asked them to complete our guest bath with a new floor as well. They were also kind, courteous and gave realistic timelines, which having little ones in the house, was greatly appreciated. HIGHLY recommend!"

"It went very well. Doug gave me a list of supplies he needed and arrived exactly when he said he would. He said it would be a one day job and it was. The tiles look wonderful."

"We originally did a report on this company when the work was performed. We rated this company all A's. About 6 months after the install, we noticed that a tile was cracked but we did not do anything about it. A year after the install, we called Tip Top Tile back to the house because we notice there were about 10 tiles cracked. He came to the house and very quickly indicated that it was not an installation problem that it was a problem with our tiles. He indicated that they were poor quality. He also stated that there was nothing more he could do. Bob never informed us when he was installing the tiles that they were of poor quality. Actually, he said they were average quality. If he would have indicated that they were poor quality, I would have purchased new tiles. Bob also never made us sign anything indicating that the tiles were poor quality and that he was not responsible if there was a problem down the road. Here we are three and a half years later and approximately 30 - 40 percent of our tiles are cracked. There are jagged edges and we have cut ourselves while cleaning the floor. It is very dangerous and the floor has to be replaced. We contacted other installers and each installer indicated Bob did a poor job because he did not put thin set down before he put the cement board down. Bob cut corners and we are now paying for it. The floor is still shifting due to the heating and cooling and the tiles are cracking. Average price to have my floor ripped up and a new floor installed is approximately 8,000 to 10,000. We contacted an attorney and discussed the case with him. The attorney agreed that corners were cut and that it was the fault of the installer. The only problem is that we only had two years to seek legal action and we were to late. If you use Tip Top Tile, please beware. We will not use him again."

"This is the second project we’ve done with Mike. Mike never disappoints. Awesome floor tiles and backsplash! Plus exhaust installation, plumbing, dishwasher installation, heating floor and many many more small things that we needed help with. He’ s always open minded, listening to customers requests, offering different solutions and always creative. Pleasure to work with."

"Debbie and Cassie of DCO Cleaning of N.E. Ohio has been cleaning my Townhouse (1600 sq. feet) for the past two years. They are punctual and hard workers. I have found them to be steady and reliable, two qualities I appreciate. In my opinion, their cleaning is better than average. I highly recommend them for cleaning service; whoever is fortunate to hire them will be rewarded with work well done."

FAQs for tile, stone, marble clean, grout, polish and maintain service projects in Elyria, OH

Sealing grout delivers excellent value by creating a moisture barrier that prevents water penetration, staining, and deterioration. Unsealed grout becomes a magnet for dirt and moisture, which can lead to discoloration, mold growth, and eventual breakdown of the grout structure. Regular sealing maintenance creates a protective barrier that not only preserves your tile's appearance but also simplifies routine cleaning and extends the overall lifespan of your installation.

When combining professional grout cleaning with sealing services, expect to pay between $3 and $4 per square foot for challenging surfaces like natural stone or heavily soiled areas. This comprehensive approach ensures your grout is thoroughly cleaned before sealer application, maximizing the effectiveness and longevity of the treatment. The cleaning process removes embedded dirt and contaminants that might otherwise become sealed into the grout, providing superior long-term results.

Certain grout formulations, particularly epoxy-based products, come with built-in moisture resistance that eliminates the need for additional sealing. These specialized grouts naturally repel water and resist staining without supplemental treatment.

Additionally, if your existing grout still demonstrates good water-beading properties from previous sealing, immediate reapplication may be unnecessary. Professional contractors evaluate your specific grout type, condition, and location before making recommendations about sealing requirements.

An average DIY grout sealing project for a 160-square-foot area requires about three hours, though this timeline can extend significantly for first-time applicators or challenging spaces. Professional contractors can complete the same area in two to five hours, depending on project complexity and required preparation. The experience gap often shows in application consistency and efficiency, with professionals delivering more uniform coverage in less time than most homeowners can achieve, especially on initial attempts.
