"Our dog broke glass in our front window on a cold, Saturday afternooon in January. I called Glass by Ro and they were at my house in under and hour. Not only did they fix the glass, they took, care of the storm window, which had come off. Their work was immaculate and done with efficiency and care. Highly recommend! I would use them again for any window or glass needs. Fabulous work."

I’m a reliable construction and maintenance professional with hands-on experience in residential repairs and renovations. I currently work as a maintenance technician for a large property, handling everything from small fixes like lighting and fixtures to larger projects such as laminate flooring, sinks, and vanities.\n\nPreviously, I was a project manager overseeing full kitchen and bathroom gut renovations, while also working hands-on from demo to installation. This gave me a strong understanding of doing jobs efficiently and to a high standard.\n\nI take pride in being detail-oriented and delivering quality results that last. I’m also honest and upfront—if something is outside my expertise, I’ll communicate that clearly. With strong customer service skills, I focus on making every job smooth, professional, and stress-free for the customer. \n\nIf you’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and committed to quality, I’m here to help get the job done right.\n\n

"Great!Prowns is professional grade, period. Quality entry doors and storms installed by Billy and Lou who spent all day ensuring the right fit and operation. Can't say enough about the professionalism and workmanship. If you're looking for a great job you'll be proud of, look no further.   Consider the effort and expense of measuring, purchasing, delivery, hiring a qualified installer, dealing with surprises when the old doors / windows are taken out, and hoping the products you receive work well once things are taken apart - you're much better off having people who have extensive experience do the job from A to Z. David came in to measure the first time, and supplied a price a few days later. Then the installer comes back to measure again. Top it all off - easy zero percent financing for 1 year.  There really isn't any competition. "

"My wife's computer died and I had sent to a repair group BEFORE I knew about New York Computer Help. They left it in a mess and I didnt touch it for a year. Finally my wife insisted I get it fixed and having then had a GREAT experience with New York Computer Help after, they were able to recover ALL the needed files and transfer to her new computer. I then required some additional assistance with file structure and while not part of our service, they did it for me. I am SO GLAD I put all 3 computer systems under their service contract. They are fast, reliable and reasonable. I would give them 6 stars if an option."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Englishtown, NJ

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
