"We found Downey Clean on Angie's List a few years ago and have now used them multiple times. They do 3 rooms and a hall for $99 and only charge $25 for each additional room or set of stairs. Their cleaning is superior over other companies and their customer service is wonderful. When you call, the staff is very friendly and helpful and you can tell they always answer with a smile. They can usually get you in fairly quick, within a few days, if you are in a crunch too. The guy we have come out was very efficient with his cleaning, personable and friendly with our German Shepherd and cats. We have had pet stains and odors and when he leaves, it's like our carpet has been renewed! Our living room has long shaggy carpet and is very difficult to clean, but he gets it done and it looks beautiful. At one time, he even helped us rescue a large dog! He saw the dog outside and thought our dog had gotten out and made sure to tell me. Long story short, I was able to find the owner from a mile away and get the dog back home. "I removed old carpet and padding from the living and dining rooms. The hardwood flooring had beautiful grain and character, but also a lot of damage. Some of the wood grain was raised and there were a lot of stains, some of which were black. I thought it might be a lost cause, but contacted Teppo Interiors through Angie's List for an opinion on refinishing and an estimate.
Kevin Teppo described the process and what results I could realistically expect. It wasn't a lost cause, but it would not be like new either. He was more optimistic about the results than I. He pointed out the crack in the ceiling and that there was no quarter-round on the woodwork, both of which his crew could take care of. There was no pressure to sign or up-selling. I appreciated that.
They were able to start on the job earlier than expected, which was perfect. I removed everything from both rooms.
Evening before sanding: They taped and plastered the ceiling crack. I applied two coats of paint. That was not expected of me but I had the time. It was one less thing for them to do the next morning.
Day 1: Three man crew arrived on time, sanded the floors and applied the walnut stain. I was warned about the fumes, so I boarded my dog for this time frame. The doorways were sealed with plastic to keep the fumes contained as well as possible.
Day 2-4: Sanding and a coat of polyurethane, 3 coats total. The crew arrived on time and were very efficient and polite.
Day 5: Quarter-round was installed. They moved the dining room table and TV stand back into the rooms. Job complete.

"Rob was very professional and clearly experienced regarding carpet stretching. It was necessary for him to move furniture which he did very carefully. He stretched the carpet nice and tight and then moved the furniture back into place (putting the legs into the original dents from when the carpeting was installed.) I would recommend him highly."

"I found this company on Angie's list and they had pretty good reviews so I gave them a call for a free estimate on carpet for our new addition. Rob showed up as scheduled and was very personable and easy to like. He brought quite a few samples and on 11/25/13 I went ahead and contracted for carpeting and paid 1/2 down in cash. I got a discount for Angie's list, but only by paying cash, he said he could not give a discount if I used a credit card. The carpet was not in stock and it was noted on the contract that install would not be for 7-10 working days. On 12/12/13, Rob was here with the carpeting which was quite heavy commercial grade, very difficult to install with one person doing all the work. He persevered to finish the installation and left about 9:30 PM that night. He did not have anything for a receipt and no paperwork on the warranty on the carpet, but said he would forward it to me. No problems so far.....
Over the last 3 months I have spoken with Rob 2 or 3 times regarding the warranty information AND about purchasing more carpet for an adjoining bedroom. He did come over and measure, gave me a rough estimate and left two sample boards, saying he would return the next week. We also discussed a problem area on the installation (a step up in the bathroom that has staples showing) he said he would take care of it when they installed the bedroom carpet. About 3 weeks later he called and said he couldn't remember where we left off, I refreshed his memory and he said he would be over today 3/28/14, and possibly bring more carpet samples. In the meantime, he would e-mail me the warranty info.  He showed up, but didn't bring any more samples. I asked if I could possibly come to their showroom and he said they didn't have one. I said I never got the warranty emailed to me, he said he was sorry he forgot, but would email it from my driveway before he left. That was 2 hours ago and I haven't received anything so far. I honestly think the only reason he came here today was to get his sample boards back.
If I have any problems with the carpet, I have no idea who manufactured it or who the distributor is, the only contact I have is Lake Carpet & Flooring and my relationship with them is strained at best. Bottom line is, customer service after the sale is not good....no warranty info....never mentioned the problem area in the bathroom...didn't seem interested in any further business with me.
