"Vogel's replaced the carpet on the upper floor of our house. The showroom experience was seem less and we had a lot of options to choose from. The sales person was super helpful and knowledgeable. Once we chose our carpet they set a date for the tear out and install. The tear out and install happened right on schedule and they did a perfect job with minimal disruption to the rest of the home. I highly recommend Vogel's!"

"Raul and Jonathan from Aces Carpet Services installed carpet in the upstairs floor of our house. They came on time, got right to work and were done in four hours. "he arrived promptly at 8:00am and got right to work.  my wife and i had removed most of the furniture but john helped move some big cabinets out of the way.  he was careful, efficient, friendly, and knowledgable in his work.  i enjoy watching a true craftsman perform his work.  he told us things to watch for in the future.  we have a big house so he is scheduled to come back in september to stretch three other room carpets and a hallway carpet. <br />"

"It was easy to make appointment They came on time A pleasant gentleman. Quiet and quick work The carpet was hardly wet when he finished (does that mean a good job?) There were no huge stains to work on. The stairway was left with dark edges. I called the company to come back and they cleaned the stairs again. These dark edges are typical for older carpets and can't be removed"

"Dennis White, aka My Flooring Guy, may be new to Angie, but he’s been in the floor business for a long time- and is a real pro. I needed carpet installed in just one room- a job that might have been too small for most. But My Flooring Guy did the work quickly, cleanly and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend him."

"Pure Clean did a fine job. They were professional, on time, and informative, letting us know what to expect. They told us our options, but did not try to upsell knowing our carpeting was brand new. My only complaint is that they did not remove several spots of latex paint. This surprised me."

"Highly satisfied with the installation. Everything went well from providing the quote until project was completed. The crew showed up on time as promised and they were courteous, respectful and responded to all questions. The project was delayed because of having to cure the floor base. The crew returned as promised and completed the vinyl planking installation in about two hours. Floor looks great. During the installation the our hallway carpet leading into the room was stained in a few spots. All to the office was responded to promptly without any hassle and a cleaning technician arrived within a few days and did an excellent job of removing the spots. Flynn's is to be commended for their excellent customer service."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Everett, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
