"I don't think I could have found a more professional and knowledgeable person on the subject of home improvement. Dan stopped by for an initial assessment of the project, took measurements and recommended Scherer brothers lumber yard over the home improvement stores (I.e. Home Depot, menards, etc) which saved us $500 on our custom door. He removed the old door, installed the new one and storm door in 5 hours. When he finished, he walked through recommended maintenance of the door and certain finishing tips. My one criticism would be a need for a written quote prior to work (since there was a question about the original quote). However, this was not a major issue."

"Great customer service and skilled workmanship!"

"As many of you know--finding a reputable home improvement company can be quite a challenge. We had some major projects to do in our yard and initially reached out to multiple companies requesting bids on building a 40 x 10 foot pergola, repairing a cedar fence and staining another major structure in our yard. Our experience in contacting home improvement companies was so disappointing. Inaccurate bids, no shows, and people showing up that presented themselves as home improvement companies but didn’t know what the heck they were doing. The only company that took the time to provide frequent consultation, accurate estimates, multiple visits to our property and consistent follow-up was Twin City Handyman! The entire staff was attentive to our needs and the projects were well done and completed on time. A big shout out to Darren, Kathy, Cory and Johnny and other staff members who assisted in completing our projects for their expertise and attention to detail. We highly recommend this company for all of your home improvement needs. Now, other members of our family are using TCH for their projects as well! Thanks TCH for a job well done. It was a pleasure working with you."

"We had him build us a 16x30 floating deck. He did a great job."

"If you are looking for paver patios, the installers are great. They did a very nice job, and were professional throughout. They would clean up every day before leaving, addressed any questions we had timely and we are very satisfied with the results. We also added a gazebo to our patio design. It was very clear that gazebo's are not one of their strengths. We encountered many issues with the design and build of the gazebo long before construction began. We had hired Josh in October to complete all elements of the landscaping project the following spring. Over the winter months, we had asked on many occasions for catalog photos, or anything that would confirm what the finished gazebo was going to look like. The pictures were never sent and the only indication of what it might look like came just a few days before the project began and was a very small (1x1) black and white picture. Our expectation of the gazebo was that the material used would be cedar. We had asked for glass windows that could be closed during the cooler and winter months. We were assured on many occasions that cedar material and glass windows were what we were going to get. As they were starting to build the gazebo, the material was not cedar, rather it was pressed wood. As the windows were installed, they were not glass (despite being told that very day they were glass), instead they were a plastic film over the screens. We were left in a very difficult position where we were essentially forced to concede on both elements. While the gazebo is functional, and will suit our needs, had Josh sent just ONE picture sometime in the 5 months or so prior the project start, we may have been able to make a different decision. Related, and something else to be aware of. When trying to reach Josh about start dates, etc I would say he was not always as responsive as I would have expected. Furthermore, there were multiple instances where what was promised was not delivered. Again, if you are looking at a paver or patio project - these guys are great and I would recommend their workmanship. However beware of anything more than that."

"Everything from the design through to the completed project went very smoothly and project ended up being gorgeous!! Trevor kept us well informed and there were no hiccups or surprises. Excellent quality work and beautiful finished project!!"

"One structure in the form of a arbor with a gate completed our fence.
The other structure a small deck outside of the lower sliding glass doors, with a pergola added,
gives a quiet shady respite to the yard.
We also had Hal design and build a fountain feature added to the garden area itself.  Which gives a soft
and flowing water sound near the small deck.
The work overall is outstanding with a very finished look.  It was also accomplished as per estimate of
time and cost.  They were very considerate to make the work space neat and clean each day at finish
       time.

We would "highly" recommend these contractors to anyone wanting this type of excellent yard work done.

"They did a beautiful job. It was spendy. It was a lot because it was all cedar and it was kind of custom done. It is very pretty. Their pricing was not inexpensive, but I think the quality of their work and the value were there."

"It went great! Another company had cleaned our chimneys for $300, told us that they were not safe to use, and given us an estimate of $7,100: $4,000 for installing flue liners and $3,800 for building a new chimney crown with a $700 multi-repair discount. They did give us a good picture of the chimney crown and an explanation for why it should be replaced. (See Chimney-Before picture provided by this company.) I was suspicious about the cost and went to Angie's List to find a chimney repair company. When I talked with Joe (the owner of Metro Chimney & Masonry) about wanting a second bid, he immediately said that a lot of companies are proposing unnecessary work to install flue liners. I had not said anything about flue liners. I then said there was an estimate for a new chimney crown as well and sent him the picture. He then said that it looks like work is needed, and he sent me an estimate. Based on his Angie's List profile, we knew we wanted Joe's company to do the work. What I have found is that those service providers who have mostly A ratings but a few F ratings are dealing with real customers rather than friends and family posting fake reviews. Anyone doing business is going to run into people who get upset or who think they know how to do the work better than the provider. I told Joe that the few F ratings added to his credibility. What happened after we got the bid? We said we wanted the work done. Joe said he might be able to fit it in this year but more likely in the spring. He said we could use the chimneys in the meantime. It turns out he had an opening in his schedule and was able to do the work in mid-October. It looks very professional. (See Chimney-After picture.) We were very pleased and just wished he also had people who cleaned chimneys!"
