Been in the handyman field for a while with some experience in deck building, siding, trim(interior and exterior), backsplash and tile work as well. Ive done some plumbing and garage door services and now for full time I build high end metal building! Quality and ingenuity is always in mind so you or the next customer loves their long term project!

Tiles in place and ready for grout. Adjustable fixtures were put in to maintain proper spacing with the new thicker backsplash

"I hired Luke to build us a new deck from the ground up Luke went above and beyond the deck turned out beautiful. He had great ideas for improving my vision. Luke was punctual, hard-working and courteous. The whole project from start to finish went very smoothly. I couldn’t have asked for a better build or builder thanks again, Luke."

"I could not be happier with the results.  I have a very old house built in 1920 with all the quirks and pitfalls that one encounters in an old house.  Paul, Rex and all the subcontractors were responsive and professional throughout the entire process.  They were respectful of my home and my schedule.  The work has been excellent.  I'm so pleased that I'm beginning to plan my next project which is the kitchen and dining room.  I will hire Paul Young Remodeling for that project as well."

"Tammy, Ruben and Team did a fantastic job framing and finishing a new wall in my home. They arrived on a Thursday to provide a quote, and after accepting their bid, were finished by the following Wednesday after two working days. Their price, speed, and end product will definitely make me a repeat customer!"

"Mess was never a problem, everything was kept inside the bathroom when away or just outside when work was being done.  Obviously very experienced.  Ben did all of our work, and he is extremely intelligent, lots of positive energy and quite a sense of humor, and honest almost to a fault. I was kept very much informed during every aspect of the job.  Oh and tireless, he will just keep working for as long as you let him, great if you want to meet a quick deadline."

"

Phil is a winner! After we selected him to do a deck cleaning and restoration project, he met with us to see first-hand what was needed and explained the options clearly in a way that was easy to understand. With the details confirmed, he worked with us on dates, weather contingencies, and projected a completion date. As the work began, Phil noticed that many boards needed to be re-nailed, and worked around that area, taking care of that after I zipped to the hardware store and got the ones he specified. After he finished the work and the deck had time to completely dry, it looked fabulous--almost like new! Phil's workmanship is outstanding, as is his communication and friendly attitude.

Shortly after this work was done, we hired Phil to replace a 4x4 ceiling in a sort of pantry/closet off the kitchen. Again, Phil's expertise in drywall repair and painting resulted in a great-looking ceiling that exceeded our expectations.

I highly recommend Phil for any home repair or improvement project you may have which is on his "can-do" list. He's a friendly, skilled professional who can get 'er done for you!

"It went extremely well.  The finished product is awesome.  Shawn has worked on many projects for me since 2009 including installing a new shower, putting in a French drain, repairing my deck and many repair jobs.  This project turned out beautifully and exceeded my expectations.  Shawn is very pleasant to deal with and goes out of his way to help with any problems you may have.  The people who work for him also do very good work.  He is very knowledgeable of all aspects of building and home repair and I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in repair or remodel."

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse building service projects in Excelsior Springs, MO

Most sheds larger than six feet by eight feet require a foundation to remain level and dry. A compact tool shed might get by without one, but anything heavier should sit on at least a 4-inch-thick stone-and-gravel pad that extends two feet past the walls. The gravel protects wood skids and promotes drainage. If you want maximum stability—and your budget allows—a poured concrete slab is the strongest option.

Your ideal shed size hinges on purpose. A common 10-by-12-foot kit gives you 120 square feet—plenty for lawn tools and bikes. Need just a spot for a mower and a few rakes? A compact 4-by-7-foot model should work. If you’re envisioning a workshop or hobby room, look at 12-by-16 feet or larger.

A good rule is to raise the shed floor four to six inches above the surrounding soil. That clearance encourages water to drain away instead of pooling beneath the structure. The simple step is especially important for wood floors and skids, helping deter rot, mold, and insect damage while extending the life of your new outbuilding.

Choose the route that fits your goals. Prefab sheds arrive in standard layouts and go up fast—perfect for basic storage on a tight timeline. Custom builds cost more and take longer, but let you add windows, wiring, plumbing, and unique finishes. Balance budget, features, and timeframe before deciding which type of shed is best for your needs.
