"From the start of the estimate with Jon to the insulation project with the Team Leader Carlos, the project went well as expected. Jon was very professional and knowledgeable. He did not try to up-sale services I did not need, and I appreciate his honesty. Jon went over the appropriate insulation for the attic and the garage ceiling to bring our home to a comfortable level. Carlos and his crew did a great job communicating with me while performing the insulation. Carlos immediately notified me of a leak he discovered from the attic fan and temporarily paused the work on the attic and moved to the garage ceiling insulation while I addressed the leak. As a customer, the only comments/suggestions I would give to the crew is: (1) make sure they keep their tools and materials off the lawn (2) make sure the plastic wraps from the materials they use and trash does not get blown away to the neighbor's yard/driveway, and finally, (3) ask the homeowner which bathroom the crew can use while on-site. "There was a problem initially with the radiant barrier installation - the first crew of two were installing 30" wide rolls lengthwise along the roof end to end  instead of from ridge to eave as the manufacturer recommends and made a couple of other minor mistakes which were easily corrected. After talking to the manufacturer, the sales rep offered to take out what had been installed and re-install according to spec or continue as already done with sealing of all seams and a discount on the job. Done this way, the foil would not have the insulation properties per spec but would provide the radiant barrier I desired. I chose the letter option and the barrier work was continued by another crew on the 2nd day. On the 3rd day the crew finished up with the barrier then blew in the installation.

With the exception of the initial problem, the work was done neatly and professionally by courteous workmen who cleaned up completely after the job was done.

"Marcos Pena (owner of MP Home Repair) and his crew were great! I talked with four contractors before hiring Marcos. He was the only one of the four who wasn't worried about having to soundproof walls. And he knew from the beginning what needed to be done to get the effect I was looking for. They soundproofed two walls in one room -- a wall that faces the street and is subject to a lot of trash truck noise plus a wall that is shared between my townhouse and a neighbor's. MP Home Repair framed out both walls and put up two layers of insulation. One of the walls had ten feet worth of windows, which meant the crew had to re-do the window frame in the process of framing the wall. The window reframing MP Home Repair did was much better looking than the framing that had been done when the windows were installed a few years ago. Plus, Marcos and his crew were super-meticulous about ensuring any gaps around the window were filled in. With the framing done, they put up wallboard and joint compound on the new walls and painted them. I was really impressed with the appearance of the walls and the sound reduction effect. The result is more than a 50% reduction in the noise from the street. The noises from the adjacent townhouse can no longer be heard. I highly recommend MP Home Repair's soundproofing work!"
