Umar and Jason went so far beyond the call of duty to help me buy and install a new washing machine the SAME day mine broke. This was not a normal emergency of having a broken washer. I was having a medical emergency with my daughter and needed a working washer. Umar and Jason shopped, bought a washer, and installed it the same day. They hauled away my old machine. Their fees which included the cost of an extra large Samsung washer were fair and reasonable. "I originally bought a new microwave at Home Depot. When the installers arrived at my house, they found that the space I had for the installation was 1 inch too short for the microwave I had purchased, so they said could not install the oven. I returned it (and as of today, am still waiting for my payment to be refunded, a week later). The problem is that the area behind my stove is tiled so the OTR microwave had to fit exactly into the space I have. When I explained that to the salesperson at Home Depot when I returned there to buy a replacement oven, he said he had never heard of tile being installed behind a range before. Huh? <br /> After exhaustive internet research and consultation with friends to figure out how to get the right sized microwave, I knew I’d have to go to real professionals. I found Sterling Appliance here on Angie’s List, and they’re right down the road from where I live. When I walked into the store and told the salesman that I had to fit the oven into a very precise space, his first comment was “Oh, you must have tile behind your range.” Bingo, I knew I was in the right place. Not only was I able to buy a high quality GE microwave that was a and frac12; inch too big for my space (instead of the low quality Sharp oven which was the only make/model available in the exact size I needed), but Sterling also said they would do a custom-install, at no additional cost, using a shim to fit the oven into the space I had available for it. Double bingo. <br /> The installation crew showed up exactly on time. The oven they brought with them was damaged; the door was broken. Back to the warehouse for a new one, and a couple of hours later, I had the new microwave installed above my range. <br /> And for reference, what I found is that there is little variation from store to store on the price of the ovens themselves (yes, there’ <br /> some, but I found it to be a non-factor in deciding). What really varies from place to place are the installation costs. So for the benefit of other Angie's List aficionados, here’s what I found: <br /> Home Depot: $80 installation fee <br /> Lowes: $130 installation fee <br /> Sears: $180 installation fee <br /> And Sterling Appliance? $120 installation fee. "They came the same day that I contacted them and identified the problem which was the oven thermostat. Came back the following day and replaced it. They sent me a tracker so I knew exactly when they repair person would arrive. All went well, no delays. Also gave me advice on another issue I had. I liked that they were honest about value for money and whether it was worth fixing something vs replacing it altogether. The price was comparable to other work that I have had done. The problem is that overall prices are too high in this area and I doubt I would have found a better deal if I had shopped around. I the end, I paid the price of half a range just to have a part replaced. I will certainly hire them again since they are prompt, professional, and honest."

Sami arrived the next morning, promptly diagnosed the issue, and ordered the part needed to repair the control board in my refrigerator. He then contacted me a few days later when the part arrived, scheduled a quick appointment, and installed the new control board.
