The details:Just a few hours before I had to leave on a flight out of the country, I discovered that my water heater was leaking when water was coming up through the seams of my laminate flooring. I only had time to turn off the main water shut off valve and the circuit breaker before heading off to the airport. Once I reached my destination, I did some research on Angie’s List hoping to find a good one-stop-shop company who could take care of both the mold/water remediation and the reconstruction… I was lucky to have found AW Martin who exceeded my expectations. I contacted AW Martin after hours and reached an answering service. Tony Martin returned our call within minutes. He was patient and answered all of my questions. He explained that he would deal directly with my insurance company so I wouldn’t have to while on vacation. Within a couple hours he and his crew began working on the mold/water remediation portion. My dad relayed to me that they worked until 2 am and that they were extremely careful when moving my fine china from the sideboard into the dry kitchen. They protected all of my large furniture with plastic sheeting and floor protectors. They also used plastic to wall off the upstairs and my kitchen to prevent the dust from traveling too much. They ripped up all the wet flooring and drywall as well as scrubbed the mold and sprayed. They brought in industrial blowers to dry out the house. The next day they returned to the house and Tony met with my insurance adjustor to review the damage and discuss numbers. He was able to agree upon a number so that I didn’t have to worry about that while I was on vacation. I was able to witness the care and attention to detail firsthand during the rebuild process. Christian, Chris and Olger were polite and a pleasure to deal with. Christian always answered my phone calls and was able to answer any of my questions or concerns. He was the one that suggested the upgraded baseboards and it has made such a difference. His team’s wall prep and paint job was meticulous; no paint drips or messy edges. I did a couple of upgrades with the flooring, the recessed lights, and the baseboard where I had to pay more than what insurance covered… but the end result was well worth it. I would not hesitate to hire them again. I will recommend them to my friends and family."

"Ian and his crew did a great job. I hired him to remove built-ins in my bedroom and also to hang a new exterior door. He removed the built-ins, cut and installed new baseboard molding, repaired the wall and painted it so it looked as good as new. Ian hung the exterior door and added extra weather stripping to account for the door jam being half an inch wider at the bottom than at the top. This is the first time that light has not shone through the door! Very appreciative! Ian also noticed that the caulking around two of my tubs was breaking down and offered to recaulk the tubs at minimal expense. He also installed a lock for me on an additional exterior door and helped to alleviate the bowing of that door, which I hadn't previously noticed. Ian took care of all of this in two days. He left my house looking great and clean. I will be hiring Ian for all my home repairs and painting jobs from now on."

"Exactly as expected. Gregory repaired both siding and gutter. After a heavy rain, the gutter repair has solved the problem. The trim repair matches well (white). This was a small job and I was pleased to have Gregory work it into his schedule. Both repairs required a 40' ladder as they were about 2 1/2 to 3 stories up. Given the work required and the height, I thought it was a fair price."

He went the extra mile by taking out an existing door that was not needed and dry walled it for us, painted the wood paneling to match the rest of the rooms that we were going to keep, and even left us the extra paint from painting all the walls and trim.
