"Radon mitigation. Had 100+ radon reading and Ramone came out and installed a mitigation system with three ducts to reduce the radon level. Good quality at a fair price. Highly recommend!"

"Gary Edge from AccuSpect Home Inspections was amazing.  First of all, he was readily available for a Saturday home inspection.  He was on time for the appointment and prepared to go to work!  Gary and I embarked on a FIVE hour exploration of every nook and cranny of the house during inspection.  Gary isn't quite the spring chicken, but he was climbing on the roof and maneuvering in the attic like it was nothing.  It was a very hot Atlanta, GA day and Gary wasn't put off by this one bit.   <br /> Gary took the time to explain current codes and the differences between when the build was done.  Gary also was very courteous enough to point out where all my water main valves and expansion valves were, should there ever be any problems I would encounter down the road as the homeowner.  Gary was very prepared and had all sorts of instruments to measure such things as moisture content in a suspected leak, tools to open basement windows, GFCI receptacle testers and all sorts of devices kept appearing out of his tool belt.  Gary was just a pleasure to work with and follow through the home my wife and I are trying to purchase.  He had a very detailed 30+ page report with various pictures of problems and areas of concern he had with the home.  <br /> Long story short, Gary Edge is the guy you want to come and inspect your home! <br />"

"I asked Georgia Radon Solutions Company for help to reduce the radon in my basement, which had a reading of 8. Mitchell Stein contacted me 2 hours before arrival. Upon arrival, he inspected the basement and explained how the work would be done and addressed my concern about how the duct would connect to the outside. He also gave me a reasonable price quote. He then noticed that I had an Aprilaire Energy Recovery Ventilator installed in my basement. I told him that the ventilator is not working and needs needs to be fixed. He suggested that I fix the ventilator and get it running, which may then solve my radon issue. I took the suggestion and fixed the ventilator, and now my basement has a radon reading of 2. I greatly appreciate Mitchell's professionalism and honesty. He was willing to put aside business profits to look out for a customer's needs, which is hard to find nowadays."

"They came out and did the work. I bought a Radon meter and my reading was ranging from 5 to 8. Once the work was completed, they dropped down the 1.1. They took their shoes off when they went inside the house and respected the household. I Will not think twice about hiring them for any other project."

"I called Nathaniel after another contractor found suspected asbestos tape in our crawl space. Nathaniel was able to arrange a same-day appointment for me at a price that was the best of all the many companies I called. He arrived on time and was professional, courteous, and competent. I plan to continue with them for the abatement of any issues his testing uncovers and would highly recommend his team!"

"Excellent! I contacted Roger when I had an emergency! I had a wasp/hornet nest in my tree. He could hear the panic in my voice and didn't have an appointment, but said he would come at the end of the day. He came, took the nest away and did a great job. Problem solved. He was so nice, knowledgeable and efficient. I'm definitely going to continue to use this company for termites and pest control."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Fayetteville, GA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
