"This company repaired all wall cracks in my basement and installed a drain system on all walls of my basement. This company showed up when they were suppose to and completed the work on my basement in a timely matter. I had to contact this company to come back out after the work was done but come to find out, the problem we experienced was not due to any of the work this company had previously done however they still repaired the problem without charging us anymore money. Would definitely recommend this company to others."

"These guys know what they are doing. Foundation problems are incredibly alarming because of what could be. Nolan and his crew are experts in their field. The actual individuals doing the job work full time for the company. They were quick, professional, and helpful. The guys that completed the actual job didn't mind all my questions and knew the answers. Comparatively, the price was a a few hundred more than some of the other quotes; however, this one felt worth the extra. It's been just a few weeks since the job was completed so only time will tell the final results, but I feel very confident with AccuLevel."

".From the first call they made me feel comfortable. The salesman Doug set a date and keep it. Doug came out looked at my basement, give me two choices told me about each in detailed. Gave me my free estimate and no pressure thanked me for having him in my home and to let him know what I thought. Four days later another company called the day before our meeting and said he could give me estimate over the phone if I could describle what was happening. His bid was $9000.00 with out seeing the job. Americrawl bid was $1500 and $1206. I went with the $1500and a appointment was set. In the meantime My husband and I had to take down some removable walls in doing so we found that years ago the system the were going to do was already done to a point. I called Doug and told him that I thought maybe the job won't be as big as first thought. Doug had me send him pictures of the area. Turn out was right , but the appointment was keep and instead of 30' of pipe they only had to do 10'. The three men that came covered the area the floor all the way to door, and cleaned up you would have not known they were even here. I ever had anthing leak again I will call Americrawl. Also my bill will be adjusted do to the difference in pipe. They didn't even say anything about the bill I had to ask.
"

"On April 14 I met with Scott Thompson of Healthy Spaces to get an estimate on waterproofing my basement. My basement is mostly finished with panelling and carpeting. After measuring the space, Scott gave me an estimate of $4862. He told me I would have to move all furniture 48" away from all outside walls but I would not have to remove the panelling or carpeting. The carpeting could be pulled back from the walls to do the work. He also mentioned a discount if I paid the deposit up front and the rest at completion of the work.
I got estimates from two other companies, and both of them required me to remove the panelling and carpeting before they could do the job. This is the main reason I chose Healthy Spaces to do the work, along with their A rating on Angie's List and the Better Business Bureau.
On May 12 a crew from Healthy Spaces arrived to begin the work. The first thing Steve asked me when he walked down into the basement was if they were supposed to remove the panelling. I told him what Scott told me about not needing to do that. He said he absolutely could not do the job without removing part of the panelling. Since it was cut the panelling or not get the job done, I agreed to let them cut my panelling.
When they dug the hole for the sump pump, they found I had a monolithic foundation. When I googled it, I found that, although fairly uncommon, a monolithic foundation is detectable by looking at the lowest block in a concrete block wall. If it is at least 8" tall, it is likely to be part of a monolithic foundation. Blocks less than 8" indicate a non-monolithic foundation. Obviouslly this is not without exceptions, but if questionable, drilling a pilot hole in the concrete floor would provide the answer. I would like to think that identifying a monolithic foundation would be crucial in determining the type of waterproofing system to use and definitely something to consider when giving an estimate.
Unfortunately the system that Healthy Spaces brought to my house was one that could not be used with my foundation. This system required digging a trench with jack hammers all around my basement walls. Once the system was installed, in the trench, it would be covered with concrete. The baseboard-like system that had to be used in my basement is above the ground and was fastened to the floor with epoxy. It required less materials and less labor. Since they didn't have the baseboard system in stock, they had to order it, postponing the completion of the job for 9 days.
i was told by Steve that the other system was not going to be more expensive - it should be less. My brother-in-law was with me when I was given that information. Steve also said that Scott Thompson would contact me because I would have to sign a different contract. Scott called me several days later and told me that the price would remain the same even though he thought the baseboard system was more expensive. I couldn't understand how that could be with so much less material and labor involved. Also when the sump pump was installed, the original plan was to have it drain away from my house by means of a trench that would run approximately 20 feet out to the street in front of my house. Since I already had an underground pipe leading out to the street, dug by another contractor in an attempt to channel water away from the foundation, all Steve had to do was run his sump pump discharge about 3 feet to my existing pipe.
The last time I spoke to Scott Thompson, he said he had to talk to his boss, the owner of the company, but he said I would get some sort of discount. He would get back to me after Memorial Day. i have not heard from him.
When I asked Scott about the 10% Angie's List coupon that I printed out, he did not reply. The company failed to honor the Angie's List coupon and the final bill showed no discount.
As weeks go by, I am gradually cleaning up and replacing the torn up panelling and insulation left by Healthy Spaces. I have hopes that the system that was installed will work to keep water out of my basement, but I very much dislike the fact that I was told that I would not have to remove my paneling to begin with. The mess left in my basement is terrible.

7/31/14 As an addendum, after meeting with Damon Cheatam and expressing my dissatisfaction, not with the actual work, but with the beginning estimate procedures, he explained to me the circumstances under which my incorrect estimate was given. He asked what his company could do to make me happy. I told him I would like them to honor the 10% Angie's List discount coupon I gave him. Meetings were held, and the end result was I received a check in the mail for the 10% discount. In spite of a few issues, this company has proven to be one of integrity and one which obviously cares about reputation and customer satisfaction. I have changed my ratings accordingly."

"
Just wanted to drop a line or two and let you all know how impressed we were with both your workmen and their work. In today's society, you just don't find companies that really do a great job, they usually just do enough to "get by".

At times, without their knowledge, I was home and could hear some of the men talking. Much to my surprise, their language and subject matter were always appropriate. Don't find that much in the labor force today! It spoke volumes to me. When they did speak with us, they were always very kind and informative.

The work that was performed consisted of excavating the dirt to gain access to the footings on both sides of the foundation. On the inside, they had to bust out the concrete floor and hand dig to the footing in order to install their brackets for the "unified lift system". After installing the brackets, they attached special hydraulic equipment to the brackets which drove 3" diameter

pipes down to bedrock. Next, they attached a hydraulic jacking system to each pier location. Using their special vehicle with a unique hydraulic pumping system they attached hydraulic lines to each location and were able to do a controlled lift. From what we understand, your company is one of the only ones that can perform this "unified lift".

We were taking pictures daily and emailing them out to family and friends who could not believe their eyes! They started out making our basement look like a bomb went off and when they were done it was swept and looking very nice!

All this to say that the work done was absolutely astonishing! We will highly recommend EHM to everyone that we hear may need this type of work completed.

Thanks so much again. We were dreading having this work completed, but you all made it so much nicer by your

expertise, kindness, and professionalism.

Mike and Cheryl

"

"The job started with us needing someone to replace some siding on the chimney due to water leaking in behind the siding causing
deterioration and paint peeling off of the siding. The job was relatively small and consequently we contacted several qualified contractors and they were not willing to even come and scope out our job. Somebody referred us to Maximus and when I called and
talked to Eric, he was willing to take on the project even though it was relatively small. When he showed up to evaluate the situation and give an estimate for the job, he discovered that the cause of our problem was that we had a concrete cap around our chimneys that had cracked and separated and allowing water to seep in and deteriorate the trim boards and siding. We agreed to have him replace the siding and trim boards and to replace the chimney chase because his quote was very reasonable. During this same visit, I was asking him about the condition of the shingles on the roof because they had been in place for 20 years. They were showing signs of wear but he said they could last another year or two. I inquired as to the cost of him roofing the house too while he was doing the other jobs for us and that quote seemed very reasonable so I agreed to that job as well. He finished the total project today in less than a week and everything looks really good. He maintained the schedule that he promised and he was on site nearly every day to make sure things were running smooth. We will definitely call Maximus again when the need arises.
"

FAQs for concrete foundation repair projects in Ferdinand, IN

Visible cracks, water leaks, uneven floors, or walls that won’t line up are classic red flags. You might also notice sticking windows, doors that no longer latch, or exterior cracks crawling up brick or siding. Even a damp, musty basement can hint at trouble. If you spot any of these, call a foundation pro right away. Early inspections cost far less than waiting until the damage threatens your home’s stability.

Yes, foundation problems impact your home’s value. Buyers want proof that the foundation is stable, and a recent, professional repair can actually boost confidence in your home. You’ll need to disclose the work, but documentation showing the structure was properly stabilized, especially with piers in regions known for shifting soil, often reads as a plus, not a problem. Skipping repairs, on the other hand, can cut your sale price and shrink the pool of interested buyers. Taking care of the issue protects both value and peace of mind.

Foundations are engineered for exceptional longevity when constructed correctly and maintained diligently. Concrete slab foundations remain structurally sound for 200 years, while other foundation types deliver integrity between 75 and 100 years. Regular professional inspections and timely maintenance further secure a foundation’s lifespan and ensure your home stays safe over the long term.
