"Patrick is a thorough professional. Your project will be done on time and on or below budget. I trusted his recommendations for project modifications, which turned out better than anything I was envisioning. The list in this computer form don't begin to address all he did. It included installing light fixtures, updating kitchen cabinets and more."

"My certified inspector MatthewCote out of the Belgrade, MT office found i have a natural spring comming up in my crawlspace. I knew I had water streaming all over crawlspace and my husband believed it was due to watering lawn of the hill our house sits on. Matt was great to work with, he was totally professional. He explained my situation and showed me in photos and map of my basement what this ssprincause, how it had eroded and damage caused. It has been going on for quite a few years, of which I noticed escalation of water even though I decreased watering on above lawn. I wish I had researched this sooner. But MATT assured me it's not too late. He was clear and concise as to what I needed done to resolve and eliminate further damage by installing 2 sump pumps, installing trenches & piping to drain all areas of water, draining ouside of house past septic and leach field, add a humidifier and encapsulation of crawlspace. I highly recommend Groundworks and Matt to anyone."

"The job was done in a proficient and professional manner. The painting crew came in and went over the work to be done to confirm color choices and rooms to be painted. We had already moved all necessary furniture and the crew covered everything with tarps. The work was done very cleanly and fast. The finished rooms look very nice and we are very happy with the final look. Thank you Big Sky Country Contractors for a job well done. We will be giving you a call on our next project."

"Cody was very nice to work with for our bathroom remodel. He kept us informed of the process. He went out of his way to make sure we were pleased with his work. (We were unable to be present and he sent us pictures and updates.). He worked well with our renters to make sure they were involved with the process. His charges are reasonable. "

"From start to finish, I was exceptionally pleased with the service provided by Treasure State builders. Some understandable supply chain issues related to Covid, but the build team communicated with me throughout. The team of Tom, Chad, Jeff, and Spencer, completed the work in a timely fashion, performed appropriate work site cleanup afterwords, and were a pleasure to deal with. I have other projects pending until spring, and I will definitely hire Treasure State builders again."

"I can not say nearly enough good things about Chris. He goes above and beyond in his work, is so detail-oriented, and incredibly flexible. He cuts no corners and went the extra mile to give us the help and support that we needed to take on the project ourselves. I recommend him to everyone, and think his services are vastly unvalued!"

"My remodel was due to a pipe bursting and major damage to bathroom walls and floor. We decided to replace the toilet, sink, and light fixtures since they had to be removed to hang new sheetrock and the flooring. Everything was done in a timely manner and he was very understanding and accommodating when I asked for a few changes. Will definitely hire him again."

"I am so glad I selected Paradise Fencing to remove an old chain link fence and install a solid vinyl fence. Everyone I dealt with throughout the project was extremely professional, reliable, and hard working. Matt answered every single question I had concerning the installation process and the product. Once the project started, they worked hard to complete it quickly for me on some very hot days. They even removed unwanted lava rocks for me and hauled away a ton of branches I had cut down earlier in the spring. I just love the fence. It improved the look of the property. I had an appraisal done recently and the fence added to the overall value of the property as well. After the project was completed, Matt contacted me to make sure I was pleased with everything. I could not be more pleased. Matt, Kale, and the rest of the crew really do nice work. I have several other projects that need to be completed and I will be hiring Paradise Fencing in the future. I strongly recommend this company. <br />"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Florence, MT

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
