The work is beautiful, just what we wanted, and was done efficiently and with such a great, positive crew. JD is meticulous - you get a beautiful yard and simple instructions to keep it that way! He has a great feel for what the customer wants and understands what it's going to look like all year round and over the long term. His original design is still beautiful almost 10 years later. "Good work in general; our basement no longer sees water for over 3 years now, which is the most important thing. But there were some real issues: The biggest issue is that USW did not adhere to local electrical codes, and did not arrange for a final inspection of the project. So we didn't find out that it wasn't to code until years later, and now it's a big hassle and minor cost to fix and get the permits. Ask your local gov yourself what you need to do for permits and inspections; don't rely on USW! USW said they would seal any foundation cracks found along the way; they didn't do this until I bugged the warranty dept about it (but they did do it eventually). USW sent someone out for the "annual checkup"... over 2 years after the install. It's a good thing they (eventually) did, because they discovered the backup battery wasn't charging. Now I know to check this stuff better myself. Prices also vary wildly and are kind of negotiable (I'd give more detail but I'm out of space)"

"We had them redo a Frankenstein-esque back patio that came with the house, and added in a walkway to the side sidewalk and a new magnolia tree with a planter. The work took longer than either of us expected, but that is most likely due to their relatively small size. I don’t mind helping out small, local businesses, and these folks are certainly worthy. They did an excellent job and a reasonable price."

"Dan was very responsive when I reached out for a quote to repair uneven areas and replace a few broken pavers on our brick paver driveway. The quote was in-line with what we received from other companies so we put down a deposit to start the work based on the positive reviews we read online. After putting down the deposit is where I felt things started to go poorly. They could not provide me a date (rather an estimate) of when their crews would arrive. That is understandable in a business that can be highly dependent on the weather. However, I asked Dan to at least call the day before so we could move our cars from the garage and park them in the street. The workers arrived, did not notify us (beforehand or when they got there!) and started doing work. They had to stop and move their equipment so we could retrieve our cars and have access to them during the day. The workers did a good job leveling the uneven bricks, but they didn't complete some of the tasks from the contract (replacing broken bricks, fixing the plastic edging) and they left their empty soda cans on our driveway. We also pointed out an area that we wanted done in a specific way, and despite being told twice, they still completed it wrong. They left without notifying us they were done or allowing us to review their work. To his credit, Dan sent the crew back out again to deal with the issues, but I still feel the work wasn't done 100% to our standards. I unfortunately cannot recommend them to others."
