Dennis Knoph responded quickly to my request for an estimate -- spending a lot time listening to my requests (like fixing holes in aluminum siding as part of prep) and addressing my concerns (like covering my roof solar panels to make sure no paint spray drifted on to them). He adjusted the written email quote a couple of times in response to other items (like no power washing in a breezeway). Unlike other companies that either wouldn't do the work or were hesitant about the outcome (like repairing holes in the siding), MHI was confident that they had the experience to do the work and could tell me what to expect. After a couple of weeks, they came back promptly to my request to paint the inside of a storm door that everyone including myself had missed. "I've had Rick out to my house twice to quote me for siding. I have found him to be very honest and have the most intregrity of the 3-4 for siding contractors that have come out to quote me. The first time he came out he recommended I find a handyman to repair my existing siding. He was of the opinion that we could buy ourselves a few more years with the repair work of a good handyman and then re-side down the road. I planned on taking advice until we found mold and my wife became concerned that there was mold behind out siding. We are still undecided if we will reside this year or a few years down the road but when we do we will almost certainly go with A-1 Roofing and Siding"

"I REALLY liked the salesperson that we bought it from. HE was excellent. When there was a glitch with our siding order, he came back out to check things out. HOWEVER, the guy who put up our siding was not real particular. He cut off our gutters when they were to be removed and re-hung. I AM pleased that the company replaced them without any hassle. The siding was over hanging the gables. It wasn't until we said something that he fixed it. That was the overall problem. Unless we caught a problem, it would have remained. While it might be our house itself, the siding installment is not what I'd consider "A". I don't think that I should be the one pointing out mistakes and getting them fixed. I think that they should have just been fixed. I'm glad that the guy was nice. But the end result was not installed like we had pictured."
