Small jobs welcome

"They were responsive and did an excellent job. And we didn't have to wait weeks to get the work done. During installation, they discovered a few scratches on the laminate and rather than install and hope we didn't notice, they got a new piece. The countertop is beautiful and they left the kitchen free from construction dust and debris. I would hire them again."

"The work was done ahead of schedule and the crews were very professional. My wife and I are very happy with the quality of the work and the floors and granite countertop are beautiful. We are giving Floors Galore and the owner, Albert Halfon the highest marks and would have him do more work in our home."

"Remodel Specialists did amazing work on our kitchen and bathroom remodel. We are still extremely excited about all of the updates, cabinets, and countertops and say at least once a week that we can't believe this is our kitchen! They made the remodeling process so easy and stress free. Any concerns or questions we had were answered and/or dealt with immediately. They helped us pick out all of the materials, cabinets and finishes - pointing things out to us that we never would've thought of. We also appreciate ALL of Sarah's help with MANY questions, concerns, design questions, and tile selections. We appreciate each and every person who came to work on our home. We will be recommending Remodel Specialists to everyone we know who is thinking about renovating and will definitely hire them again if we need anything done in the future."

"I was very impressed with Abdul and his team. Abdul was responsive to my texts, offering suggestions and treating us with respect. He listened and made suggestions that allowed our project to stay within budget. He treated us like family. The project started as indicated with efficient use of time. Salvador and his team kept the work area very clean. The tile installation was exceptional. The granite installation beautifully showcased the grains as I had requested. Any concerns we had, were addressed and resolved quickly. The staff at the showroom were courteous and helpful. The showroom has an excellent selection and variety. I would highly recommend DE Flooring Granite & Remodeling to anyone looking for experience, competency and quality work. It was a pleasure working with them and I would hire them again."

"I used Roberto on a kitchen remodel 8 years ago. I recently used him again to remodel my bathrooms. He is an engineer so there is additional value in his opinion, and he has an eye for detail. He and his crew do an amazing job. With my kitchen, I chose a granite with a lot of variation and color. I also have lots of countertops and angles. He fabricated it so that standing at one end of the kitchen, all the lines run in one direction. He made the granite in my bathroom without seams. He is a perfectionist, and it shows. I highly recommend."

"We're currently renovating a 1939 home and wanted to save the original cast iron tub. It had been painted before. I assume a previous owner tried one of those do it yourself kits. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman from Tubs and Tops who came out, he was great. I think maybe it was Jeff. He scraped off the gross paint coating in the tub and repaired a couple of chips then did the rest of the refinishing. The tub looks like new! $295 + tax would barely have bought a cheap in stock fiberglass tub at a big box store."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Freeport, TX

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
