"Initially, I met with Mr. Canales and reviewed the project requirements. We required new roofs on two adjacent sheds. This required removing the old shingle, removing the existing plywood roofs, the installation of new plywood, headers, soffitt wood work and installation of new architectural asphalt shingle. "05/14/2014-A lot more is happening.  The current hold up is due to the permits office in Jefferson County, WV.  It is over a flood plain issue, and the county not allowing a repair.  Since my last post, manager Doug Brenner has jumped through many hoops with the county, making many calls and visits to the county permit office and completing their additional requirements.  Champion, at their own expense, hired a surveyor to shoot an elevation to prove the property was not in the floodplain which cost them $1,000.00.  Mr. Brenner has kept us up to date with everything that is going on and we HOPE to bring this to a quick resolution so that we can get our room replaced!

We have yet to see how it will go.  We signed our contract on 09/28/2013. (corrected from 12/28/2013) Jim the salesman was very nice and accomodating.  The manager, Doug, has not followed up regarding when the permit will be ready and they can start.  When we called, several weeks ago, we were told that the permit was still with their engineers.  It is now 3/31/14 and nothing yet.  I am hoping that things happen soon and we can change this review to one that says "Well satisfied, great job on the finished project, Champion.""

"Anthony came out to give me an estimate.  We discussed rotten wood and what might need to be replaced.  I had originally gotten an estimate for less work but after getting other estimates and reviewing my goals, I decided to have them repair and paint all my outside trim and wood siding near my peaks.  Anthony, the crew manager, had time to squeeze me in between larger jobs and I agreed.  The crew came out on a Friday promptly at 7 AM.  They were all hard workers, very courteous and professional.  My floors were covered wherever they needed to walk inside to get to my back deck and all bushes near the house were covered as well.  Whenever the men came into my house, they removed their shoes!  Anthony went over very carefully all work that was to be done.  He wanted to make sure there was clear communication.  When the carpenter found additional rot behind the outside wood panels of my bay window, Anthony agreed with me to make those repairs as well, even though it would add more time to the job.  He charged me an extra $250 which seemed fair.  They worked all day Friday and came back for a few hours on Saturday before stopping due to rain.  Everything was cleaned up as if they were never there, except for deck furniture which had been moved and/or disassembled. 

The rain prevented completion for a week, but on the first clear day, they came back out to finish the work.  They did a beautiful job.  When finished, we went over everything that was done and where I thought there was a little area missed, they immediately covered it.  Overall, it was a great experience.  I also mentioned to Anthony that I had a problem with leaking behind my new gutters and Anthony used my video camera on my phone to show me what caused it and helped me document it..  I only wish I had gotten my gutter company from Angie's List as well because now I have to sue them to make the necessary repairs and prevent future damage."
