"I had a clogged drain that no amount of plunging could get rid of. I called several companies. I initially went with Mr Rooter because they were the only ones that could make it out that same day. Glad I did. The technician was very pleasant and he took his time to explain all the steps he was doing and let me watch as he put a camera down the drain and showed me on the screen where the clog was and all the build-up in the pipes. He then brought in a high pressure washer and I watched on the screen as he cleaned the pipes all the way down to where it joined up with the main sewer line. I initally thought the estimate was a little high, but not after watching all that they (his supervisor also showed up after an hour to help out) did."

Customers say: Quick response

"I have used Malmedal for years.  They are my  plumber.   I always get the same plumber, Oliver.  Always on time.  Reasonably priced.  Very professional.  Oliver always has time to answer questions and offer advice.  Sometimes he answers questions that have nothing to do with the current job.  Like this last time I had questions about my septic tank. The work is always done right the first time.  In the past, I have had them clean drains, fix faucets, install faucets, install hot water heater, and add straps for the water heater to code.  I never have to search for a plumber.

"Looked for someone to clean my drains outside and saw Grumpy's Drain Service - name drew me in, family owned with photo had me calling. We had someone out within a couple of hours and could not have been more pleased. Professional, knowledgeable, fast & efficient - could not have asked for better. Kinda reminded me of what I grew up with - down home trustworthiness, honesty, and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I will highly recommend to anyone and would use them again."

"Nick evaluated the issue and suggested the most cost-effective solution. While Nick was present I mentioned my main sewer line may need replaced. Nick suggested contacting a company that does video inspections of a main sewer line. Following the inspection which identified root intrusion Nick viewed the video and mentioned a client who used an enzyme to clear out his main sewer line. I researched this solution and ended up using Green Gobbler Foaming Root Killer which should result in a $7000 savings on a sewer line replacement. I highly recommend Nick for any plumbing issue. Thanks Nick!"

"Our CPVC house piping had a lot of water hammer. After turning on the washing machine, I walked out for a moment, and then when I came back in water was dripping from the ceiling exhaust fan onto the washing machine. We have a two story house and they ran the hot water plumbing from the water heater in the garage through the laundry room ceiling. I removed the exhaust fan and could see water dripping from a tee way back beyond reach. The water hammer from the washer likely caused the fitting to start leaking. I turned the house water supply off and sent a message to Simpson plumbing through Angie's list. A lady from Simpson plumbing contacted me right away the next morning. She was courteous, but was having a hard time understanding what the problem was. Maybe I was giving too much information or something, but when the plumbers arrived later that afternoon they didn't understand what was going on. I ran through what happened again and showed them the wet spot on the ceiling. They had to cut an opening in the ceiling and we turned the water on and confirmed the leak. We moved my washing machine out of their way and they cut out the CPVC tee and replaced it with PEX. The piping was brittle so it took him a couple of attempts to get a straight cut which is why I called them to mess with it. After installing the PEX tee, we were leak free and at my request they provided a reference for the drywall repair. He also advised getting some water hammer arrestors installed on the supply lines to the washing machine to stop the water hammer, which I have since done."

"First visit: Ryan came to see what work would be needed. Gave recommendation for water heater as well as 'booster' to provide more hot water. Did not go into crawl space under house to investigate bathtub plumbing needs. Explained steps we needed to take to prepare bathroom and floor for installation. (Total visit: almost an hour.) Second visit: Ryan performed jobs 2 and 3 easily and efficiently. Replaced earthquake straps on water heater; they had not been installed properly 10 years ago. Finally entered crawl space and realized he would need a second person to do plumbing bathtub hookup from below and above floor at same time. Arranged for a 3rd visit with an apprentice a week later. Third visit: Ryan and helper cut waste line and installed branch line to new tub location, plus install new water supply lines for tub as well as hook up tub to new branch line. Worked efficiently and thoroughly. [NOT MP Plumbing's fault: hose bib had hidden damage which began leaking a few days later; Seth called and explained function and design of hose bib, but when he was informed that it was still dripping at end of explanation, he immediately said something was wrong and he'd be by in 20 minutes. Arrived quickly (forth visit), removed part and discovered mis-manufactured part. Replaced immediately, and made note that it was too soon to have been our fault so there would be no charge for the part or the visit.] Ryan, Seth and apprentice were all very friendly; they took the time to make sure we understood what they would be doing (and in some instances why). They worked well and efficiently and were very careful and considerate of our space. Easy to talk to and we never felt they were talking down to us; when they used in-house 'lingo', they made sure we knew what was meant. Overall a very pleasant experience. While we had been told on the phone when we made the initial appointment that the first visit was a chargeable service call, Ryan discounted that first visit as he had not discovered the need for a second person and thus he had to come for the third visit with the apprentice. We felt that we were treated exceedingly fairly in those circumstances. Total cost includes water heater, booster and plumbing fittings."

"I found Walt on Angie's List and left a message for him. He returned my call the same day and we scheduled an appointment for the following day. Walt and his wife showed up at the scheduled time in a fairly-large truck contailing his supplies and tools. Mr. and Mrs. Walt worked on the problem toilet together. As it turned out, they had the necessary replacement parts in their truck so they were able to complete the repair in fairly short order."

"** I'll preface this review by saying that we were first time remodelers. Up to this point we've done a number of projects ourselves. Take that however you will....contractors will likely assume we were a pain in the tush, while other first timers may see this as helpful. Bottom line....our job came out well. The road to get there was tenuous and slightly frustrating. - Charles is a nice guy. He seems to have certain materials/items that he prefers to work with, that he's worked with in the past so you'll need to speak up if you want something other than what he'll automatically steer you toward. Definitely use his cabinet guy, in Hubbard, as they do a great job! - He uses the flat fee method.... He allots you a certain amount for materials...i.e. $300 for your sink, $250 for your cabinet hardware, etc. In all likelihood we were under on some of those items yet we still paid the 'quoted/estimated' price. Yet when we went over on the backsplash tile he charged the extra. I don't particularly care for this method but it is what it is. - He doesn't provide a rendering of the project so you need to be able to picture it in your head or work with a designer who will provide that hard copy visual source for you. - Unfortunately, and I'm truly sorry for him for this, he had some personal issues arise at the start of our project. We tried to be patient and understanding, and I think he would agree with that. Those problems resulted in him hardly ever being on site. He has a friend/employee who is a really nice guy who works with him. After my spending a year looking at reviews, licensures and trying to find a contractor who does the work himself, it was frustrating that the friend (who we later learned has an engineering degree but isn't a licensed contractor) did a good portion of the work Charles told us he would do. Mixed feelings there for a number of reasons, including that we were messing with the main structure/support point for our home. We were repeatedly told that Charles would be doing all of this work, when in fact he didn't. Again...personal problems that took him away. - Before signing anything, be sure to have a discussion about permits....and be sure to get them. - After our house was torn apart and we were living in a bedroom, the problems hit and discussions were had that shouldn't have been...... Excuses given for why we should pay sooner than originally planned, etc....that kind of stuff...which made me more cautious than I should had to have been. Nothing illegal...just stressed me out and left me wondering if the job would get done. He was clearly stressed and under a lot of pressure in his personal life....again, an unfortunate situation. - As I said, the end result is very good thanks to the great cabinetmaker, electrician and plumber. Drywall and tile both had to have repair work done before we would sign off. The small amount Charles did was done well. - His payment schedule was in 1/4s...1/4 down, 1/4 at material selection, 1/4 at start, and 1/4 upon completion. A bit scary...but we did it. When the job was almost complete...we still needed the bar installed and the final inspection done...he asked for his final payment. We refused so he informed us that we could write a check now or pay more. (**He told us at the beginning that permits were up to us but that we didn't need one as he was just widening an opening....not removing a wall. After the job was started, and I did more research, my husband and I decided we wanted permits. Evidently, due to adding permits, the electrical/plumbing had gone over his original quote so we would now be charged for those overages if we weren't willing to write a check that day. We opted to pay the extra. I have no problem paying what we owe....the work was done so we owed the money...besides the fact that I wasn't willing to pay before the job was complete.) The MINUTE the final inspection came back okay I transferred the money to his account. Done. To ask for payment before completion is absurd...especially as it was spelled out, "Balance due upon completion", on his contract. - When we signed on, Charles listened to what we wanted and did a good job of putting it into action. I believe he knows what he's doing and does it well. I think he's good at envisioning things and knows what the end goal will be. It would be great if he would give more updates and information to keep the homeowner informed....especially important for newbies. Our experience, unfortunately, didn't go as smoothly as it could/should have and I didn't appreciate the work being done by someone else after we'd been told that Charles would be doing the work himself. I especially didn't appreciate the payment chaos at the end. Prior to that day we had paid EVERY PAYMENT WHEN ASKED. Had he not had the personal situation then things would likely have gone better. As I said, I believe he knows what he's doing and can carry the plan to fruition."

FAQs for drain line breakage camera locate projects in Gales Creek, OR

French drain repairs generally include cleaning to remove clogs or replacing damaged pipes. Drain cleaning costs between $150 and $200 per hour. If replacement is necessary, the cost to install a French drain can run up to $5,000, depending on its type and location.

Trenchless sewer replacement costs between $60 and $250 per foot but is usually not an option for interior plumbing lines. Plumbers typically only use this approach for outside sewer pipes.

Unless you can see a clog through a drain or cracked pipe under a sink, you may be unable to identify its location. To find the problem, your plumber may test your water pressure at specific points or use a sewer camera.

Common signs that a drain pipe requires repair include slowly draining water, backups, regular clogs, strange gurgling sounds, or foul odors from the drain. Also, contact a plumber if you can see rust or oxidation on a drain pipe under the sink or in the basement.

The cost to repair a sink drain pipe can be as low as $100, covering the cost of a plumber’s labor for one to two hours. If the pipe needs to be replaced or is difficult to access, costs could climb up to $500.
