"Allen is a quality home repair/renovation professional. He handled multiple home repairs for me in a single contract. The work involve repair of water damage around a chiminey leak, including demolition of damaged ceiling, plaster work, repair replacement of hole in ceiling, and repainting repaired areas to match. He also repaired/replaced a broken window, and patched holes in plaster walls related to plumbing repairs. Finally, he replaced external siding on my formers that had been left exposed by a previous contractor. Allen brought the projects in on time and within the budget he submitted for the project. The quality of his work was excellent and his prices were reasonable. I am lining him up for my next projects. You should too."

"He was very professional and after installing my cat door into one of my interior doors, he adjusted it because it wasn't closing good. I also asked a question about my refrigerator and he saw the problem and fixed that as well at no extra charge. I had been thinking that I would need a new refrigerator but the problem has been corrected. He is very knowledgeable."

"I've worked with Brad and Zen Windows twice now to install my windows in my old home, and both times Brad and his team were a pleasure to work with. They are honest every step of the way, something that I value very much. His team work efficiently, took off their shoes before coming inside and didn't stop working until the job was done. I don't have anymore windows to replace, otherwise I would hire them againI!"

"Very reasonably priced work. But here's the coolest thing: when I expressed concern that the normal charcoal-grey mesh diminished the view out the windows, he suggested a light grey mesh he'd recently used at someone else's home. It's virtually see-through, looking through them to the outside, and aesthetically they look really great with the outside brick of my house. Best money I've spent so far on this renovation! Plus, he even removed a major wasp's nest for me, so he could get to the screen. What a pro! One final note: I was initially concerned that he wanted to take the screens to his shop to finish over the weekend -- but not to worry. He promptly made an appointment to return about 3-4 days later. Came back, did the install, and had even built one new screen that was missing. Don't hesitate here, folks. Personable, professional, and delivers quality results. You'll wish every renovation project was this easy."

"talk through the process and even suggested vinyl railing which saved alot of money. Very organized. Had complete check list when we met at Lowe's and Home Depot for purchasing supplies, Accepted help of our son for all 3 days which saved us over $300 in labor. Finally, and most importantly - suggested "Goof Off" which is now part of our staple items in the garage. we had alot of red over paint from our last deck on the siding and the goof off removed ALL the old paint."

"I was so thrilled with his work. He came out and he wrote out all that had to be done and called back with a quote and a day he could do the work. He was able to do the work while I was at work so that was a huge plus. So happy with back door that I asked him to come back and also install a screen door. I can't wait for my next project. He is definitely on my call back list! Thank you!"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Gallatin, TN

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
