"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"It was great, workers were always on time. Cleaned up each night when they left. <br /> They were quite when they came and went and that is important to me since I work from home. <br /> They added extras that was not in the original estimate and did not charge me. Kept to the original estimate. <br />"

"We just completed installing a motorized retractable awning from [*** Link removed ***] and are super pleased with the quality of the build, appearance and customer support.? This Italian-designed, engineered and manufactured awning is assembled and shipped from RetractableAwnings.com Florida plant, so if you need assistance with the install, you should contact a local handyman, carpenter or contractor.? Ours is a Palermo Plus, 16 ft. wide, with an 11 ft.-10 in. projection.? The Internet salesperson, Eric Scop, V.P., really worked with us to understand all the options and get fabric swatches.? We ultimately selected a combination Rain/Sun sensor and Vibration sensor to automatically retract the awning in case of heavy rain or excessive wind.? I spoke with Rocky, their installation expert, for advice on preparing the ledger board to attach the awning to our vinyl sided home, right below the soffit.? His advice was instrumental in making the install go so well.? Further, the awning arrived already programmed to the Soliris transmitter and the motor limit switches were also set.? It shipped in a fiberboard box (this one was about 17 ft long and 1 ft x 1 ft square, weighing over 200 lbs.), which was extremely tough.? The truck driver ignored the box orientation stickers and used a hand truck to move it from the center, rather than two hand trucks, one at each end, per the clear placarding on the box.? Despite this, it arrived in great shape, other than a couple minor paint scratches, which we will fix with touchup paint they are sending at no charge.? While the enclosed wall brackets were different from those described in the installation manual (an improved design), installing them was no problem. An extra bracket was included, which we also installed as this will be a large ?sail? on the side of the house and we want it to stay there. We extend our sincere thanks to the team at RetractableAwnings.com, and for those review sites that accept photographs, we include the following photo."

"I wish I could give a good review, because we worked with the builder to design a unique and lovely home. Before I begin, PLEASE NOTE- if you ask the builder about this review, he will likely give you a story about unfinished payments or such. That was the story we got when we inquired about a previously litigated job, and we decided to give him the benefit of the doubt because he seemed to be a nice guy and good fit for our job. <br /> The job started easily enough and we didn't have many problems in the early stages. We did have to monitor the quality and point out split studs, improperly placed insulation, etc. The crew consisted of nice guys, but there was little quality control done by the contractor. Our daily trips to the site usually consisted of us cleaning up trash, food wrappers, spilled drinks etc. both inside and outside. Malone was not present on the site very often, and many mistakes were overlooked until WE discovered them---toilets installed in the wrong place, ceramic tiles laid crookedly, etc. An entire exterior wall was mistakenly sided with expensive Hardy plank when it was supposed to be stone. Those are things that probably happen with many jobs, so as long as they were corrected we were okay. But when the job was close to finish, suddenly items that had been part of the design became extra charges, and we had to eliminate some features we had assumed all along were part of the house. <br /> I won't go into detail about the last weeks of the job, there was much disagreement and it was very difficult to get our punch list finished. When we closed the mortgage on the house there were still issues that hadn't been addressed, but Malone said that they would be taken care of as warranty items. We were told to let the house and quot;settleand quot; through the winter and spring and then he would see what needed to be repaired. The following summer was one delay after another, and it was 9 months after and quot;completionand quot; that his crew finally came back to do the warranty work. It took several attempts before they managed to repair a ceiling and get it painted correctly, and even now you can see sponge marks and wall paint overlapping the ceiling and vise versa. I contacted him repeatedly to notify him of more issues, including but not limited to cracked drywall, flooring that doesn't reach the baseboard, window sills that are separated and rough, popped drywall nails, many corners of cracked paint with primer showing through....Imagine how stressful for people who lost their home in a fire to discover that the new home's fireplace was installed without a major part, causing damage to the fireplace itself. We chose a high quality vinyl plank floor that resembles distressed wood, but because the cement slab wasn't thoroughly prepped and smoothed the floor shows dips, bumps and even debris that was left under it during installation. <br /> Sadly, instead of returning to finish the warranty items, he simply went AWOL. He refused to answer emails and bluntly decided that he was not going to return or finish the job. There is not a single room in the 3100 sq. ft. home that doesn't have visible issues and flaws. If you decide to use Malone Renovations, I strongly urge you to be present on site every day, checking for quality. Get every single item spelled out in the contract, because a man's word isn't what it used to be. And DO NOT approve payments before you are 100 percent satisfied that every issue is corrected and completed. If you authorize payment and then hope to have the builder return, you will be sadly disappointed."

We are a small detail oriented company. We have 3-4 employees on a regular basis and we hire additional help if the size of the job warrants it. We run a small crew so we can maintain good quality control in an effort to minimize call backs and complaints. Sometimes (rarely), we employ quality sub-contractors. We also offer consulting on construction projects to help the lay person through their projects.

My specialities are doing the job right the first time. I've spent the last 20 years doing general construction, welding fabricating, dairy farm maintenance, landscaping and industrial maintenance specializing in plumbing and electricity in wastewater plants. I've realized I can do and have done various trades and vengering out on my own was the only way to insure my skills were optimized. I take the upmost pride in my work and take on no job without the absolute confidence that I can provide the customer with the piece of mind they chose the right person.

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Gay, WV

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
